Chapter 1
Gasping for air Kaci Copeland opened her eyes, her heart beat racing as the
remnants of her nightmare lingered on her fear ridden mind. Never before had she
ever had a dream so unreal, yet, so realistic. Panicky, she picked up her phone,
dialling her brother, not caring that it was 3am. She'd watched her brother die,
and she'd be damned if the time was going to stop her making sure he was okay.
On the tenth ring, a sleep coated voice answered, irritably.
"Hello?" Kaci felt stupid when she heard his voice, she was a
twenty-three year old adult, and she was calling big brother when she had a
nightmare, waking him from his much needed sleep with the hectic schedule he
had, biting her lip, she spoke softly.
"Adam?" Adam's voice softened considerably when he heard her voice, a
voice he hadn't heard for at least three months.
"Kaci? Hey sis." Kaci smiled softly at his warm tone, still speaking
as softly as she had when he answered.
"Adam, I'm sorry for calling you so late, I had the strangest dream, it
seemed so realistic." Curious what had got his strongly hard headed sister
so shaken up, he asked softly.
"What happened?" Kaci took a deep breath, not to sure if she could
relay everything that she'd seen in her dream to him, she answered simply.
"You died, got killed." Adam laughed softly.
"Kaci, it was only a dream, don't worry, I'm still here." Kaci nodded
to herself, knowing Adam would be oblivious to the gesture. Then asked quickly
in a rush as the image came back to her.
"Adam, so you know a woman with dark curly hair? That hangs maybe to her
hips? Green eyes?" Adam heard himself gasp, shock coursing through his body
momentarily.
"Yes. Kaci, that's Krissy. But you've never seen her, how would you know
how she looks? She's yet to appear on WWF Television, she just works
backstage." Kaci felt her head begin to spin. Without a word, she hung up
the phone, dialling for a plane ticket from Toronto to Florida for the next day.
Adam asked the question, the question she had no answer for. She'd seen Krissy,
she'd seen her crying at Adam's grave.

As she stepped of the plane in Florida, Kaci Copeland's cell rang again. Ever
since she'd hung up on Adam the previous night he'd been calling her. Probably
worried for her well being, only, she wanted to see him face to face. Talk to
him, and be able to see his reaction. See if anything came to her when her skin
connected with his. She knew, if Adam hadn't of said he knew Krissy, she
wouldn't be here now. The fact that she had a dream about him when she hadn't
seen him for three years was enough, she hadn't spoke to him for three months
before last night. Why would he suddenly be in such a realistic dream with a
real person, that she'd never meet? Shuddering, she remembered the words
whispered to her whilst she was in an unknown reality last night.
"Save him, save him before it's to late."
Why her? Why, or all the people who knew Adam, all the people he was
actually close to, did it have to be her that had to dream of him? Why did she
have to be the chosen one? Why did whatever power is was, that was guiding her
last night, have to make her once again come face to face with her brother?
Sighing, she shook her head, ridding it of questions that would never be
answered. But one question remained, one question that she'd had on her mind
even before she woke last night. One question that was important, if not the
most important of all; How the fuck was she supposed to save him? What was she
supposed to do? When would it be to late? How was she to save him? Shaking her
head once again, she called a cab, vaguely remembering Adam's address and
bracing herself for what was about to come.
