chapter 4

“Which one do you like?” Gil asked Leah as they walked around the small forest of Christmas trees.

“I like that one.” Leah said pointing at a medium size tree with lots of branches all close together.

“Good choice. I’ll go get one of the boys to cut it down for you. My back isn’t as good as it used to be. I’ll be right back ok?” he said smiling.

“Sure. No problem.” Leah replied as she walked to her tree.

When Gil returned he had Jeff behind him, who was wrapped up in a big thick coat. He carried and axe in one hand.

“Hey.” He said smiling.

“Hi.”

“Funny seeing you here.”

“Yeh.”

“I take it you met my new dance partner dad.”

“Yes I did.” He said smiling as he and Leah stepped back from the tree as Jeff began to cut it down.

Once he had done he had put it into the back of his dads pick up truck and followed Leah to he house with it.

They where now trying to find a place for it to sit in Leah’s living room.

“Perfect.” Leah finally said as she and Jeff

“Yep I think so.”

“Thanks for the help.”

“No problem, anytime.”

“Do you want a drink?”

“Sure.” He said as he followed her into the kitchen.

“What would you like?”

“Anything.”

“Root beer ok?”

“Great thanks.” He said as he took a seat at the table. He began to take the decorations from the bag and looked at them all. Leah placed the glass of drink in front of him and sat down opposite. “Do you wanna hand putting some of these up?” he asked as he undid his coat and lay it on the chair next to him.

“I think I can manage. You must have other stuff to do.”

“Nope. I’m free all day.”

“Then I’d love some help.”

“Great. Gives me something to do.” He said smiling and taking a sip of his drink. “You looking forward to Christmas?”

“I don’t really know to be honest.”

“Why not?”

“Because I have no friends and family here and no one to buy presents for a share Christmas day with. It’s going to be strange.”

“True I guess. But you have me to buy a present for and I’ll be offended if you don’t.” Jeff joked trying to look hurt.

“I don’t know what you like. I could always wrap myself up and you could have me!!” she said laughing with him.

“You wouldn’t fit under the tree.” He said laughing harder. “But you’d fit nicely on my bed.”

“Oh would I now!!” she said between out burst of giggles and she kicked him under the table.

“Perfectly!!” He said as he kicked her back.

“And what would you give me?”

“Me of course. What more could you want?” he said as he laughed at Leah who now was laughing do much she had tears down her cheeks.

“A hell of a lot!!!” She said as she tried to calm down.

“THAT’S IT!!!” Jeff said as he got up and went around to Leah and stood behind her chair and began to tickle her. Leah was laughing so hard she was short of breath. She tried to grab Jeff’s hands but it was hopeless. She wriggled so much she fell of the chair and Jeff just kept on tickling her. She rolled onto her back and tried to grab his hands again but it was hopeless. He got down and straddled her. Pinning her body to the lino floor. One of his hands moved from her side to her neck where he tickled and Leah’s head whipped from one side to the other trying to get Jeff to stop. The tears of laughter ran down her cheeks as she still struggled for breath. Jeff was laughing at Leah as she struggled helplessly beneath him. He moved his other hand to her neck so now Leah didn’t know what to do. But she didn’t have to know. Jeff knew exactly.
