“He was hurting her again.”

“Huh? Who was hurting who?” Matt asked as he rubbed his sleepy eyes.

“That guy next door. He was hurting her. She was screaming again.”

“So you went around there?”

“Yeh.”

“And?”

“And nothing…I asked if everything was ok and he said yes.”

“There you are then.”

“No Matt. I looked over his shoulder and she was lying curled up on the bed. The way someone does when they are hurting.”

“Jeff, we don’t know these people. It’s no of our business.”

“It is Matt. We know he’s abusing her. Probably nobody else does. We have to help her. We have to save her.”

“Jeff I’ve never seen you like this before. You want to go and save a complete stranger? Why Jeff?”

“Because….” He broke of. “Because………just because we have to…and if you won’t help me I’ll do it by myself.”

“Look. If this is that important to you then maybe I will help but I don’t see what we could do. I mean how are you going to get to her?”

“I don’t know yet but I’ll figure it out. I just need to know that I have your support.”

Matt sighed; he looked into his brother’s desperate eyes. “Yeh you’ve got my support.”

“Support on what?” Amy asked as she walked into the room. She sat on the arm of the sofa by Matt.

“Jeff’s gunna try and save the girl next door.” Matt informed her.

“I’m not gunna try and save her I AM going to save her.” Jeff stated.

“Jeff. You don’t know her and we leave her tomorrow.” Amy said staring at the younger Hardy.

“And if I have my way she will be coming with us.” Jeff said with a determined tone. “Are you going to help us?”

“I will. How come this is so important to you Jeff?”

“Because she’s being abused and she is probably to scared to run away from him, she’s probably scared that he will come back after her and scared of what he might do next.”

“But what if he catches us trying to help her?” Matt asked Jeff who was now standing up and passing the length of the room.

“Then we beat him up for what he’s done to her.”

“Sure Jeff. I can see the headlines now ‘WWF superstars the Hardy Boyz and Lita last night beat up a stranger in order to save his girlfriend’. That would go down great with Vince.”

“If you not going to take it seriously then don’t bother. I’ll do it on my own.”

“Jeff, all I’m saying is think about it before you do anything and we are behind you a hundred percent.” Matt said getting up and going to his brother. He stopped in front of him and looked at Jeff. “I just don’t want you to be hurt Jeff. I don’t want him to beat up on my little brother. Be careful. Even if Amy and I are there we can’t stop him from hurting you. Maybe we can physically but from how I think you feel about this what he’s doing his hurting you mentally and if we don’t succeed in doing this then it’s going to hurt you more and I hate it when you hurt.”

Jeff didn’t reply he just wrapped his arms around his brother. Matt responded and laced his arms around Jeff. He held him tightly hating the thought of Jeff being hurt. A hurt that he couldn’t stop or prevent.

Amy got up and walked over to the brothers she placed her arms over both of their shoulders and she hugged them. Matt and Jeff both moved an arm around her and team xtreme stayed there for a few minutes until they jumped when the door from the next room banged closed.
