“I
can’t believe how much Jeff has changed since Leah got here.” Gil said as e
looked towards the door that hid Leah and Jeff.
“I
know. It’s like he’s a different person. All of his troubles and problems
seemed to have gone away.”
“It’s
like a miracle. I have my son back.”
“And
I have my best friend back.” Shannon said as he took a sip of his coffee.
“He changed so fast. It’s just liked all he needed was her back with him.
Maybe what had happened in the past wasn’t what was hurting him. Maybe it was
the fact that his heart ached for her.”
“I
hadn’t thought of it like that. If you lot hadn’t have gone and found her
then I fear that I would never have seen him like this again. Happy. Leah has a
power of him. One neither of them knows is there. A power that soothes Jeff and
makes him be himself.”
“I
know what you mean. He is so patient with her. Before he hated having to do all
the mushy stuff with girls. Like holding them when they cried and looking after
tem when they were ill. But with Leah he seems to have all the time in the
world. He never wants to rush her or make move. It’s like he wants to take all
her pain away and make it his own.”
“I
think that when she went back to that guy.”
“Simon?”
“Yes.
It was like he was so near to saving her then but she left and went back to the
abuse she received from Simon.”
“When
we found her. It was like she was scared to have left him. I just hope this time
she stays with Jeff. It would kill him if she left again.”
“He
really does care for her doesn’t he?”
“Yeh
he does. And she really cares about him to. You can see it all in how they are
with each other. The gently touches, the embraces and the looks they give each
other.”
“She
really is a special girl. She is so young but has been through so much and she
is so much wiser than anyone else of her age I have met.”
“I
was talking to her earlier and she said it was like Simon was drowning her and
she had no way out. Her family didn’t help her. They let Simon destroy her.
How could they do that?”
“I
don’t know.”
“She’s
their daughter and they just let him beat her down until she was nothing left
but a shell of what she used to be.”
“But
now she has Jeff and all of us to help her. And I know that we all will.
Everyone seems to have warmed to her. To have excepted the situation and are
going to do the best they can to help her and Jeff.”
“We
all have. And when Matt, Amy and Shane go on the road she will have me and Jeff
and you.”
“Someone
will always be around for her.”
“Do
you think Jeff would ever go back to the WWF?”
“I
don’t know. I think after this is all over, if he was offered a contract but
Vince McMahon he would take it.”
“I
hope so. Wrestling makes him so happy and it’s like when he isn’t doing it
apart of him is missing.”
“It
is. And if he wants to be one hundred percent happy he will have to wrestle
again. And I think he knows if but he just wants to be happy again. And with
Leah here I’m sure it won’t take long.”
“I
hope so.”
“What
about you?”
“Me?
What about me?”
“Are
you happy?”
“Yeh.”
“Seriously?
I see how you are when they go on the road.”
“I
hate that part but I’m ok I guess. I just have to accept that they are in the
WWF and I’m not.”
“But
are you happy in HWA?”
“Yeh
I guess I am. I have so many friends there but it’s not where I want to be.”
“And
that’s in the WWF right?”
“Yeh.”
Shannon replied with a slight laugh. “I have a massive favour to ask you Gil.
Feel free to say no.”
“Ok.
Go ahead.”
“Well.
You know how things have been with my mom and gran. They don’t want me at
their house for Christmas and I’m going to be at my house alone. So I was
wondering…”
“If
you could spend Christmas here with us?”
“Yeh.
You can say no if you don’t want me here.”
“Of
course you can stay with us. The more the merrier. Why didn’t you ask
before?”
“I
don’t know. But thanks Gil it means a lot to me.”
“I
know it does and your very welcome her anytime you know that.”
“I
guess I had better go to mine and get some clothes.”
“Yep
you had. And bring all of your presents with you. While you’re gone I’ll
make up the guest room.”
