chapter 10
“Do you think
she’ll be ok?” she asked as Matt looked up from the floor.
“I don’t
think she’ll be ok for a long time. I don’t know if Jeff realises that.”
“I think he
does, look at the way he went after her. He knew she was hurt and he seems as if
he’s going to see her through it.”
“It’s almost
like her knows what she’s going through.”
“Yeh, almost.
I don’t know why he wanted to help her but I’m so glad he did. She’s so
young, so sweet and innocent. She doesn’t deserve any of this. No one does.
Her body is probably scared for life in places…how can she forget about
those?”
“I don’t
know.”
“I feel so
sorry for her Matt. She’s lying in that room with Jeff… how do u think
she’s feeling?”
“Amy, I
can’t answer any of these.”
“I know.”
She sighed. “Do you think she’ll come with us…I know Jeff said he
wouldn’t leave without her.”
“I hope she
does for her sake. If she stays here he’ll hurt her more…maybe kill her for
running out on him. Guys like him are sick in the head and he won’t stop at
anything.”
“I know. If
she comes she hasn’t got any clothes or anything has she? She lived in a house
with him and she told me she’s to scared to go back there and she won’t go
back to her room next door.”
“That’s
true.”
“And I don’t
have enough clothes and she can’t wear anything skimpy so how about we go and
buy her some things. I mean her and Jeff won’t be out anytime soon I don’t
think.”
“Good
idea…do you have any idea about her size?”
“Yeh, all my
things where a bit big for her so anything smaller than what I wear.”
“Come on lets
go. I’ll just leave them a note.”
As Leah opened
her eyes the whole room was black. She lifted her head and looked around. She
felt Jeff’s arms still around her. He was still asleep beside her. Slowly she
moved from his arms, careful not to wake him. She got of the bed and stumbled
out of the room into the lit sitting area. She looked over at Amy and Matt who
sat on the sofa watching an old black and white movie. Amy noticed her presence
and looked over to her.
“Hey. How are
you feeling?” she asked as she shifted over on the sofa so Leah could sit
between her and Matt. Matt turned the TV of and twisted in his seat so he was
facing her.
“Ok I
think.”
“You fall
asleep?”
“Yeh. It been
ages since I’ve been able to slept pain free, well almost anyway.” She said
with a small laugh. “So did Jeff, he’s still sleeping.”
“Trust
Jeff.” Matt said making Leah smile.”
“Thank you.
Both of you. You made me welcome and I really appreciate it. I mean you knew
nothing about me and now I’m here and you know all about my past and
everything and I’m leaving this city with you in the morning.”
“We are glad
you’re here Leah. And I’m so happy your coming with us.” Amy said giving
Leah a small hug. “We have something’s for you. We knew you didn’t have
any clothes so we went shopping and bought you something’s.” Amy said
pointing to the 8 bags that sat in the corner of the room.
“You didn’t
have to do that. Thank you so much guys. I’ll pay you I promise. I can’t
believe you did that for me.” She said as tears filled her eyes once again.
She leaned over and hugged Amy. “Thank you so much.” She moved away and
turned to Matt. “You too. Thank you so much.” She said as she hugged the
older Hardy brother.
“It’s no
problem. And you don’t have to worry about paying us. Think of it as a
present.”
“You guys this
is way to much. You hardly know me. I will pay you when I get myself sorted I
promise.”
“We’ll
see.” Amy said with a smile. “You going to have a look?” She asked Leah as
she got up and pulled Leah to her feet and led her to the bags.
