Chapter
9:
“Ugh
I’m going nuts!” I yelled,
frantically searching through my closet. “It’s
only a guy,” I told myself, trying to stay calm.
“But it’s Matt, and he’s damn sexy,” I mumbled.
What if he wants to go in the pool?
I asked myself. “Please Lord, make it rain,” I prayed. I scanned my closet and figured “dress comfortable.”
I thought a moment; “I am comfortable.”
I walked out of my closet, went to my drawer, pulled out a pair of dark
blue, low-riding jeans, and a pair of socks.
I put them on and quickly switched bras.
I went back to the closet and pulled out my black baby-t with “evil”
written in sparkly purple on the front, and pulled it over my head.
I put my Nike sneakers on, brushed my hair, put some light make-up on,
and ran downstairs so I could find something to make for lunch.
I
went back to the kitchen and looked through the cabinets and fridge.
“Nothing? Is that
possible?” I asked myself.
There was nothing for me to make for lunch.
“Great, just great,” I muttered under my breath.
Just then the doorbell rang. I
got butterflies in my stomach and I couldn’t help but have a smile glued on my
face. I tried my best to act as
casual as possible. I walked calmly
over to the door. I looked through
the peephole to see Matt, his hands in his packets. Rocking on his heels,
looking into outer space. I let out
a light chuckle and opened the door. I
greeted him with the same sweet and innocent smile as last night.
He, in return, gave me a heart-stopping smile that sent chills down my
spine. Ha, keep that up and you
might get something in return, buck-o.
“Hey,”
I managed to say. “Hey
yourself,” he said looking me up and down.
Not that I mind, but could he be anymore obvious?
“You gonna stand out here all afternoon or are you gonna come in?” I
asked, giving him a playful look.
“I
was gonna wait for an invitation, but if you insist,” he said giving me
another killer smile. I motioned
for him to come in, he obliged, walked passed me and stopped in the foyer.
I closed the door and motioned him to follow me.
“Would you like something to drink?” I asked politely as we made our
way into the family room. “Sure,
just some water, thanks.”
“Make
yourself comfortable,” I replied leaving to get Matt his water.
I was surprisingly comfortable around him, and it felt damn good…
