Introduction:

To be honest, I’m not too sure how this all happened in the first place.  Faith, my best friend, and I were at this new club in Jersey, and what do you know?  I spot this little crowd of handsome guys, standing over by the bar, across the dance floor.  Again, as I said before, I don’t know how the hell this all happened, but I’m so glad that it had.  Enough with my rambling, here’s the story on how it all began.

  Chapter One: Problems…

“This is the worst day of my life!”  I screamed to no one in particular.  How could I do this?  It’s my best friend of about 13 years Birthday today and I still didn’t know what to do for her!  How could I forget something so important?  I only had a few hours to figure something out before Faith gets home from her overdue relaxing trip.  Damn it!  What am I gonna do?  I have to plan on what to do tonight for Faith’s birthday, pick up my dry cleaning, plan my “brother’s” funeral, and then get this script finished by 7:00 tonight.  What a piece of shit day!

“All right, chill Laura.”  I said to myself.  “What’s freaking out gonna do?  It’s definitely not gonna help this situation any,” I continued.

What’s the worst that can happen?  I lose my job, my best friend getting pissed at me, and my “brother” haunt…Forget that thought.

“Get a fucking grip,” Ugh think!  Everything’s gonna be just fine, I hope.  Please lord; help me with this one.

Ring… I just about jumped 10 feet in the air.  “It’s just the phone!” I yelled to myself.

  “Hello?”

“Hey Laura!” A very ecstatic person screamed into my ear.

“What’s up chica?”  It was Faith.  Of course she would call me right at the exact same time I’ve been telling myself to chill over forgetting her birthday.

“Nada, just wanted to remind you that my flight lands at 6:00 tonight.”  She said.

“Wow, so sweet of you to think I’d remember,” I replied sarcastically.

“Hey now, I just don’t wanna be left stranded at the airport for a few hours.”  She told me in a smooth tone.

“It’s all good Faith, oh and Happy Birthday!”  I said trying my hardest to sound happy.

“Thanks, got anything planned for tonight?”  She asked.  Her voice sounded so full of hope that I wanted to slap myself for what I said next.

“Hell yeah chica!  It’ll be the best night of your life.”  I said totally regretting it right then and there.  I slapped my forehead and kept thinking to myself that it would all work out someway or another.

“Well, I can’t wait to see how different you look!  I mean you’ve been gone for about a month now, down in Florida might I add, you’re now 22, and you broke away from that wanker Rob.”  I said, truly happy.  She was coming back to the house we shared and I was so excited about that.  It’s so lonely without her.

“I know.  I can’t wait to see you either, but I’m sorry to cut this short, but I gotta finish packing, see ya soon.”  She said, winding down the conversation.

“Yup Yup, see ya later chica!”  I said hanging up the phone.

I let out a loud sigh and plopped down on the couch, closing my eyes and tried to put together these thoughts running through my head.

At least she got rid of Rob.  He was her boyfriend of two years.  I knew he was a bastard the first time I met him.  Hell, when the two just met, he wasn’t single.  Rob was a no good drunk, with no job and didn’t even have a car.  How Faith found him is beyond me.  She finally broke up with him, right before she went to Florida.  She had told me that she found him in bed with another woman.  That’s all she told me, except the fact that the woman was someone she worked with, go figure.  Well, that’s in the past and we have to worry about the present day.  Plus, I still have to figure out what to do about my problems…
