Background: Kid Money made his debut on the May 25, 2001 Friday Night Slam as the runner up in the newcomer battle royal, being the last to be eliminated by Blaze (Derek Steel). Money would go on to become one the NFWA's hottest stars in the summer of 2001, defeating Squirrel to win his first NFWA X-Treme Title, and reaching the final 5 On Deadly Ground's Ultimate Destruction Championship match. After suffering a severe leg injury, Kid Money departed from the NFWA, making his return in early 2002 alongside Sewaside as a member of Tina's Angelfire faction. With Angelfire's backing, Kid Money defeated Tristram to win the Light Heavyweight Title. Later that evening, Kid Money and then-Tag partner T Money would divorce themselves from Angelfire, and a week later, defeated the World Class Superstars to become the NFWA Tag Team Champions.
