A river runs through it (Photo, left)! Well, maybe NOT a river exactly -- more like an improved creek, with rock-buttressed sides and lilypads for visual appeal. Now if they only had some Koi in the creek, it'd be perfect. Methinks, however, that the first good rain would wash out any Koi clear down to the Gulf of Mexico. And Koi don't come cheap!
Then there's the "Troll Bridge" over the creek (Photo, right). Not bad, but the decorative detail -- like that on some of the benches -- did take some getting used to. On Opening Day there actually was a Troll at the bridge, accosting visitors as they passed by. He's not been seen since, but it would be a great place for such a gig, regularly!
There are six sanctuaries just off the main path (Photo, left and below), each one dedicated to a flower and a Quality: Azaleas and Happiness or Roses and Romance, for example. Despite some of the eye-jarring details in each sanctuary, there are actually quite peaceful. A great place to retreat for a bit of rest and relaxation when the excitement of TRF gets just a tad too much!
