The Royal Procession takes place at 1pm, starting from the Village Green and wending its serepentine way through the faire all the way to the Jousting Field. Ryleh was much impressed by the garb of the King's Knight (right foreground, with tankard), especially the chainmail tunic he wore under his surcoat. Not only was it a well-crafted piece, but it actually weighs slightly less than thirty pounds. Surprisingly enough, it was purchased ready-made from Musuem Replicas!
Here, Christopher the Insulter poses for his portrait with one of the pretty rosegirls in front of Medieval Mocassins. Without a doubt, his sign says something insulting -- it just didn't translate well through the lens of Ryleh's Flemish Painter.
The Scots' Guard Regiment seemed to be everywhere at Scarborough this day. Here they are shown marching toward Villagers' Crossing, to the sound of pipes and drums with their banners proudly waving aloft. Alas, the Regimental Goat was nowhere to be seen at this time!
