Aragorn Or Strider as some people know him as, is a Ranger. Rangers are dangerous people that live in the wild. Unlike wild men, Rangers are more civilized and can speak the common tongue and maybe even Elvish. Aragorn is actually the King of Gondor, but chose exile because he couldn't take it that his ancestor had the weakness in his blood by not destroying The Ring. Aragorn is fighter. He will never give up a fight and will protect his friends. Legolas The Elven Member. Unlike what most people think Elves are not fairy-like creatures. Instead they are more like men, except taller. They have a very keen sense of sight and can hear things from far away. Legolas uses this to his advantage. He can shoot arrows with nearly perfect accuracy. He is very helpful, because he can sense danger. Legolas loves peace like all elves, and dislikes too much change to an environment.
Gimli Gimli the Dwarf is a very aggressive character. Dwarfs love to mine and build huge caverns underground. One such city is the Mines of Moria. Gimli was very into the idea of taking the Fellowship through the Mines to show off. He was very furious to see that his cousin's city was destroyed and invaded by goblins. Balin, his cousin, was killed in the invasion. Though Dwarfs naturally hate the Elves, Gimli forms a great friendship with Legolas. Gandalf Gandalf the Wizard, an ancient Maia (magical spirits that take the form of old men), is the most wisest and powerful member of the Fellowship. He is a wizard so he can use magic. Since Gandalf is very powerful, he was not allowed to use all his magic. Until the Ring was found. Now Gandalf has to use all his power to help Frodo destroy the Ring. Gandalf was the one who discovered the Ring for what it truly is. Frodo Frodo, the hobbit, is the main character in the play. It all starts when he inherits a ring from Bilbo, his uncle. Although the Ring corrupts all that posses it, except for Sauron, Frodo shows an unimaginable resistance to the Ring. When he learns from Gandalf about the Ring, he immediately sets out with a few companions to take the Ring to Rivendell, a Elven city. Frodo's best friend is Samwise Gamgee.
The Hobbits "My dear Frodo. Hobbits really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is about their way in a month, and after a hundred years they can still surprise you," as said by Gandalf. Hobbits are small creatures. They're about half the size of a man, and even smaller than Dwarfs. They live in hobbit-holes which are quite comfortable. Four particular hobbits are Sam, Merry, Frodo, and Pippin (as they appear in above picture from left to right.) Merry and Pippin are best friends an always get into mischief together. Merry and Pippin followed Sam and Frodo only because they were running away from Farmer Maggot from whom they stole crops from. These hobbits form a special bond and start to rely on each other for survival.
