Stop the outrageous abuse of our fellow magical creatures, and campaign for a change in their legal status!

Magical Folk: Your sheets are changed, your fires lit, your rooms cleaned and your food cooked by a group of magical creatures who are unpaid and enslaved. House-Elf incarceration goes back centuries, and there is no record of any action taken on it before now.

S.P.E.W. is an organisation founded in 1994 by Hermione Granger. The short-term goals of the organisation are to secure House-Elves fair wages and working conditions. Long-term goals include changing the law about non-wand use, and trying to get the shockingly under-represented Elves into positions of power in the Ministry of Magic around the world (most likely in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures).

Two Sickles to join SPEW benefit our leaflet and website campaigns, to bring S.P.E.W. to a wider, global audience. All Magical (Witches, Wizards, Warlocks etc) and Non-Magical Folk (a.k.a. Muggles), Muggle-born or no, are encouraged to join S.P.E.W.
