Galadriel

Lady of the Golden Wood.

She was daughter of Finarfin, high king of the Noldor. Wishing to rule a kingdom, that elves may dwell in, Galadriel turned her back on the Valar and left to Middle Earth. She made, with her husband Celeborn, the land of Lothlorien, the fairest of all Elf-kingdoms in Middle-earth. By the third age Galadriel was the highest noble of all the Elves in Middle-earth. Galadriel was bearer of Nenya, the ring of water. With it she kept the ravages of time away from her land of Lothlorien and kept the land invisible from the eye of Sauron. Near the end of the third age, the ringbearer (Frodo Baggins) entered the Golden Wood of Lothlorien, after holding council with Galadriel Frodo offered Galadriel the One Ring of Sauron. After an inner struggle Galadriel turned down the offer, and decided then to return to the Valar for she felt she had passed the test that Middle-earth had to offer. After Sauron's Ring was destroyed, all the three rings had made were undone, time found Lothlorien. So Galadriel set sail from the Grey Havens and was never seen in the Mortal Lands again.
