Sauron

The Lord of the Rings.

Sauron was the greast of all Morgoth's servents. After Morgoth's destruction in the War of Wrath, Sauron escaped the Valar and went into hiding. Years after his master was slain, Sauron returned, he did not come as an enemy though but as friend. He deceived the Elves, they saw him as friend and taught him many of their crafts. One of which was the skill of ring making. In that time the three elven rings were made and gifted to Galadriel, Gil-Galad, and Cirdan. Also, the seven rings for the dwarves, and the nine for the humans, but Sauron took this craft and betrayed the elves and forged the One Ring. One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them. With the One Ring Middle-earth was his. He spread his evil throughout the land and enslaved all the races of the Mortal Lands. So it came to pass that the elves and men rose up and made the Last Alliance. Led by Elendil and Gil-Galad, the armies marched against Mordor. In the final battle at the slopes of Mount Doom Isildur, son of Elendil, cut the ring from Sauron's hand. Sauron was destroyed, but because the ring was not cast into the fire of Mount Doom, Sauron's spirit lived on. Thousands of years later in the third age Sauron's ring was discovered and his spirit began to resurface. The Ringbearer (Frodo Baggins), under the advisory of Gandalf, left his home of the Shire on a brave quest to destroy the ring. Not able to comprehend why one would want to destroy the ring Sauron didn't see the small figure of a hobbit slip into his land of Mordor. It was there, in the fires of Mount Doom, were the ring was destroyed and Sauron's great evil along with it.
