I was always interested in fantasy as a child and enjoyed the stories of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.
One of my favorite characters was Merlin the Wizard. I have seen many interpretations of Merlin, but when I think of this character the image of a big blue hat with yellow stars and moons always comes to mind.
I put together a costume back in 2000 and made my own magician's hat. I wore a blue cape and added a white beard and moustache. The song that I used for this video was "Magic" by The Cars.
During the movie, I did several different magic tricks. My mom does stage magic along with her clown skits for church and has quite a collection of tricks and props.
I borrowed a magic urn from my mom's chest of magic tricks and in the movie I pour water into the urn and empty it. Without adding any new water, I continually pour water out of the empty urn. I also borrowed my mom's magic coloring book for this film.

I also portrayed Merlin at Sykes in Eastern Kentucky in 2001 for our Bring Back the Magic promotion.
Our stats were lower than what they once were and we did a promotion to encourage the reps to raise our quality scores.
Merlin walked around the call center that day encouraging the team to "Bring Back the Magic".
This was my last portrayal of Merlin.
