I was always into fantasy as a child and enjoyed the stories of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. One of my favorite characters was Merlin the Magician. I have seen many interpretations of Merlin, but when I think of this character, the image of a big blue hat with yellow stars and moons always comes to mind.
I recently put together a costume and made my own magician's hat. I borrowed a blue cape from my mom's magic trunk and added a white beard and mustache. The song that I used for this video was "Magic" by The Cars.
During the movie, I did several different magic tricks. I have my own magic wand that I used. I borrowed a magic urn from my mom and in the movie I pour water into the urn and empty it. Without adding water, I continually pour water out of the empty urn. I also borrowed my mom's magic coloring book. I started out by showing the coloring book with the pictures. I waved my hand over the book and opened it back up to show the pictures have been covered. Then I shut the book and blew on it, and all of the pictures were gone. The movie ends where I Threw my blue cape over my son Matthew, and pull it away to reveal a live rabbit! I'm not going to tell you how I did any of the tricks. It's magic!
