Step 1: Read the entire FAQ!
While individuals in our guild are ever so friendly and helpful, it can be very frustrating answering the same questions several times over. This is why we created the
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), which contains answers to questions that get asked A LOT! Save us some trouble and READ it!
Step 2: Read the Guild Rules.
Some of them are contained in the FAQ, this list covers them all and explains about promotions and the consequences for breaking the rules.
Step 3: Do I need a Mentor?
If you are new to Neopets as well as this guild, you might be feeling lost and alone. The Guild of Booklovers now has a mentoring program. If you'd like someone: to show you around Neopets/guild, to be a friend, to answer all your questions on a one to one basis, or to teach you all the little tricks then neomail
booklovers_academy to request a mentor.
Step 4: Guide to Booklovers Guild & Neopia
Booklovers_Academy has a page of very helpful information that you may have missed. The
Guide to Booklovers Guild & Neopia is a must read!
Step 5: Introduce yourself.
After you have read the rules for posting on the board, pop over to the
Message Boards and post a message introducing yourself. You'll get credit for one post, and give the rest of the guild a chance to show how friendly they are! We love to welcome new people. Please, also, neomail
booklovers_welcomer to let our welcomers know that you have joined the guild so they can send their greetings.
Step 6: Neomail Settings
Make sure that you have your neomail set so that you can receive messages from the Welcomer and other council members (in other words, make sure that you are set to allow non-neofriends to neomail you).
Step 7: Post your birthday on the Guild Calendar.
By entering your birthday in the Guild Calendar (located at the guild message board to the left under options), you will receive a warm birthday greeting on your special day.
Step 8: Get to know the guild, make some friends, and learn how things work.
It may seem like there's not much to do at first, but keeping up with the message board can be a great way to find some fellow members that you share interests with and to learn about the latest happenings. We have ongoing and special
Activities that our members of all ranks are welcome to enter. And there is enough information on the guild website to keep you reading for quite a while! Visit all the
Guild Shops and read their rules. These shops are set up to help you. Each shop has its own rules. You can visit the shop by clicking on the items on the
Bookshelf. While you must be an Apprentice to request from the shops, you can still use this time to learn what is available and make friends with the shopkeepers. For information about promotions, stop by
Madame_Baguette's pet page.
