The farm was purchased in the fall of 1940 by Roger's father, Walter and was named North Wind by Roger's mother, Meta as a tribute to the greeting she received each morning as she stepped out for chores. The current farm was built in 1970 in order to expand and improve housing.

Roger and Jamie are proud parents of four sons, Jerry, John, Abe, and Noah. The farm was once milking 110 cows in two barns. Three other barns were used for raising heifers and bulls. In March of 1998 the family decided to spend some time in family pursuits and to disperse some of the herd after much debate and contemplation. The main reasons for dispersing were to support the boys in their endeavors and Roger had double surgery on both knees, and it was becoming increasingly painful to continue at the current pace. They dispersed down to about 50 milking cows.

We are especially proud of our herd, and the low somatic cell count they have maintained while achieving almost a 22,000 RHA. Our breeding has focused on high protein along with excellent feet and legs.
