Lowcraft came on to the scene as Absinthe and took off for stardom immediately. Quickly labeled by anyone that heard them as, "the next
big thing," they made a name for themselves playing gigs up and down
the west coast and even making a trip to the South-by-Southwest Music Showcase. You might remember them showing up on MTV's "The Real
    World" in Seattle.

A record label, Disco Volante, finally recognized the opportunity being presented and signed the band. Once the boys were in London recording
and preparing for a UK tour, it was discovered that another artist was
already recording under the name of Absinthe. This would turn out to be
one of the most unfortunate misuses of an excellent band name in the
    history of music.

Only a little saddened by this turn of events, the band quickly recovered
and came up with a new name, Lowcraft! Bass player, Clark Stiles was
replaced with Peter Noone and now the band is poised to take over the
    world!

Lowcraft hails from Portland, Oregon. After building a solid foundation of songs and creating a buzz in the Northwest, under the name "Absinthe" the band took off for a UK tour and recording deal.
