Genealogy
started with me at an early age. With the passing of each relative in their time,I would question"who were they"and "where were they from".Each time I would get an
"I don't know",or half answers,that didn't satisfy me.
With the passing of my Grandmother Mary BEASLEY I discovered all sorts of papers relating to relatives dating back to 1721 in France.
With the passing of my Father, my Disabilities,and the Computer combined,created a situation whereby I had the desire,the time and the ability to spend the time needed to assemble and research what Informat
ion I had and to expand on it where possible.
Without the information and 'friends' I
have acquired through the years, all I would have is a pile of papers that made no sense.
It even took me two months to find theCHOISSER Family due to the fact that I was taking the spelling of the name
on my sheets as facts. Facts in Genealogy are few and far between.
Educated guesses will take you a long way on your journey to uncovering the facts, but by all means, do your homework,keep records and verify your guesses or they are no good to anyone.
To sort these facts I have Family Tree Maker and Legacy.
There are many other software packages out there some costing money and some free for download from the Internet.
They are all the same but different in small areas. Maybe a common sense user will someday create a fast simple easy to read, package that will do everything we all want it to do
When I die(don't get your hopes up,it will be many years and years) I hope to leave a legacy to my Granddaughter,a comprehensive history of the many people it took just to create her and her world.
They may be Kings,they may be Horse Thieves,we don't know yet but whoever they were,we will be able to know them through this and other works,I hope to accumulate in the years to come.
