My Favorite Poems

Racism, war, crimes of madness
enclose us all around.
Stomy clouds surrounding us,
thundering clouds of hate.
An optimistic's point of view,
the storm will go away.
Wishing the sun will come out,
gray skies turning blue.
Realizing as the clouds darken,
another storm comes forth.
Maybe larger than the one before,
pray that we will survive.
Is this how our children will live,
always in constant fear?
Clean up your act, live in peace,
and see the sunshine again.

Raising his goblet to his lips
his shiny teeth 'a gleaming.
I fight the urge to scream in fear
hoping that he will let me live.
Color returning to his cold, pale cheeks
as he drinks the dark, red liquid.
This warm wind of life which once was mine
is now quenching the thirst of evil.
As he lowers the empty goblet to the table
his menacing eyes 'a gleaming.
I realize, with terror, that I was wrong
Death is certain when dining with Vamps.

we were walking on a soft dirt road
we had everything that we'd need.
the sun and the rain grew food for us
the trees gave us shelter indeed.
but, soon our road began to split into two
one soft, yet dark as night.
the other was ever so treacherous
yet the sun was shining bright.
as we neared that split on the road
nature became less kind.
the sun, the rain, the tress all left
necessities we, alone, had to find.
Some friends and I chose to go one way
the one that was hard, yet bright.
For our struggles, rewards came out way
and we learned that this road was right.
The rest, however, chose the other road
and confusion surrounded their life.
Though their walk was full of comfort
darkness cut their future like a knife.

Aw jeez, it’s about that time of the year again.
A time of anger, pain, and stress.
Where coffee, soda(pop), and no-doz are cherished
As we prepare to handle the mess.
Everywhere we go, everywhere we look
Students and profs. are going nuts
We’re all under books, papers, and pens
All wanting to kick each others’ butts.
It’s during this dreadful last week of school
That many Northland traditions occur.
Country Kitchen becomes our second home
Or the Black Cat, or even Dexter.
We spend all our waking ours in Computer Labs
To finish papers or take home exams.
Any extra time, our noses are stuck in books
Wearing headphones and listening to jams.
When the day arrives to take our tests
The stress levels have reached their peak.
Everyone becomes annoyed with each other
Eventually someone will freak.
We walk into each class nervous;
Our nerves entirely shot.
We leave the room in a worse state
As we wonder whether we failed or not.
Though slow it may seem, it soon ends.
Our last exam taken and we clear the halls.
As we head home for vacation
We think…to hell with finals!!

Tribute to John Saul
John Saul is definitely my favorite author of all time! He writes psychological terror and he has been an inspiration to many of my works(as Paul, my art instructor had to suffer through every time I received John's latest works)
This is actually Paul's idea to bring all of John's works together into a pastel drawing!
