30th Jan: Yet more information on the videos:
- UK Beast Wars videos:
Blackstar have updated their information on the beast wars videos. Firstly, volumes 5 and 6 are now available to buy. New cover images have been put up for volumes 5,6,7 and 8 (see below). Interstingly, the covers for 5 and 6 appear to have changed since the preview images (which can be seen further down the page). Episode descriptions are now also available.

27th Jan: Various news items for your viewing pleasure...

- Beast Wars DVD to be released in US
I received this e-mail from video and DVD retailers Videoflicks on Thursday, stating that a Beast Wars DVD was to be released:
"We thought you'd like to know of this special new Beast Wars release, entitled Beast Wars - Classic Episodes ($US 19.99). This collectible item will contain the pilot through to the mid-point of the first season, as well as episodes never released on video!"
Click here to read about this product. This is an American DVD, so will not be playable on UK machines. Fingers crossed for a UK version. The release date is listed as 13th March 2001.
- BBC 2 series features Transformers
For those retro people who like the original 80's Transformers series, or just the curious, the BBC 2 'I love the 80's' series will feature Paul Cannon, webmaster of Transforce UK and Simon Furman, writer for the Transformers comic book series and a few Beast Wars episodes, being interviewed on the subject of Trnsformers. The show in question is 'I love 1984' and will be broadcast on Saturday 17th February. This information comes from Paul Cannon himself on Transforce UK
18th Jan: Sorry about the lack of updates on the news front since the beginning of the year, I've been extremely busy, and a whole lot has happened, so here's a digest of items for you.
- New Beast Wars videos getting released.
On January 29th two more Beast Wars videos are getting released here. Volume 5 features Coming of the Fuzors pts 1 & 2 and Tangled Web, while Volume 6 features Maximal No More and Other Visits pts 1 & 2. They can both currently be pre-ordered from Amazon UK and Blackstar.

But wait, there's more. On March 5th, two more will be released. Volume 7 will apparently feature Bad Spark, Code of Hero, and Transmutate, while Volume 8 will contain all three episodes of The Agenda trilogy. These two videos contain arguably the best episodes of Beast Wars, so I highly recommend that you pick them up. Both can be pre-ordered from Blackstar.
I think I speak for all of the UK Beast Wars fans when I say that these videos really are a godsend to all of us who had to put up with GMTV's poor air dates and excessive editing. It really is good to see them extend past the 'lost series', season 3, and onto the excellent episodes from season 2, which were left ruined by edits when on TV.
- More BM toy prototypes up on e-bay
During the past month, someone has been auctioning off prototypes of previously unseen 'Beast Machines: Battle for the Spark' toys, namely a basic unicorn, a supreme Optimus Primal, and a Mega Optimus Primal. I'll get some images up soon, although you don't need to look hard to find them elsewhere.
-Beast Machines on UK screens
UK site, Transforce has reported that Fox Kids will begin airing Beast Machines on the 19th of February. Those of us lumbered with terrestrial TV appear to be deprived of the controversial series.
