09th March: (More) Belated news
- Transformers: The Movie DVD and Video Just a remider, which is to say that it's something I should have reported on long ago, that Transformers: The Movie is now available on Pal video format in the UK, and can be purchased from Amazon UK now. It will be released on DVD format for you lucky souls with DVD players on 19th March. Um, don't suppose anyone would like to donate me a DVD player? Anyone?

14th Feb: Just a little update to yesterday's news.
- BWTF explains
BWTF has explained the situation with Supreme-sized Optimus Primal, which presumably led to the pictures and information being taken down. It would appear that Hasbro is unsure of whether or not to release it, considering the poor sales of the last Supreme-sized toy.
13th Feb: A veritable cornucopia of vaguely interesting and important news items, that due to my total inadequacy with the news, I've so far left out. Sorry... sorry... bye...
- Hasbro reveals new line
Hasbro has revealed on their pre-toyfair website (here) that the new US line will be 'Transformers: Robots in Disguise' and will essentially be last year's Japanese line, 'Car Robots' brought to the US market. According to BWTF, the accompanying TV show will be dubbed and shown on Fox in the US. It seems likely that this is a filler line, to keep us and the kids occupied while Hasbro prepares something bigger for the US market.
- Toyfair pictures released
Toyfair 2001 featured both the upcoming Robots in Disguise line, and the on going Beast Machines: Battle of the Spark line. Pictures are noteably at BWTF, and virtually any other major action figures site that had access to Toyfair. Interestingly, BWTF did have pictures of the Supreme sized version of Optimus Primal, however these were hastily taken down, leading to speculation that Hasbro wants to keep that toy a secret for now, or that they've decided to scrap it.
- Beast Machines and Beast Wars lines cancelled in the UK?
A little while ago, a member of The Allspark reported that a conversation wiwth a Hasbro UK rep revealed that Beast Wars and Beast Machines toy lines were being cancelled in the UK. Now, my own enquiries have come up with information that Beast Wars has indeed been stopped (this seemed pretty much a given, considering sales, and that all that really remained to be released were the rest of the Tm2s and the Mutants), but Beast Machines is currently alive and well. It isn't unknown to have Hasbro reps give out conflicting information, so chances are we'll have to wait and see.
