The 80's were the last great outpost of pop culture. This was the era that saw the beginnings of the computer, video games,and of course the rubics cube.The list of pop bands that reigned in the 80's still have cult followings. I also think the music was better because you only had rock for metal,rap,pop,etc etc to compete in. Today you have all different types of rock such as alternative, classic,metal,ska, so on and so forth. This means that with so many nitches, bands don't have to be as good to get heard and sell cds. This really reflects on some of todays music.
Another great thing about the 80's was the TV shows such as the A-team, V the series, and airwolf. DVD sales have more than confirmed this. the season box sets of 80's shows are virtual gold mines to DVD sellers.
The last thing that marks the 80's is its movies. A lot of these movies are still cult classics years later movies such as terminator,the lost boys, and top gun still entertain audiences today. How many movies today will be able to say that 20 years down the road.
On this webpage i will create tributesto the things I loved during the 80's. Maybe it will take you on a trip down memory lane or at least give you a chuckle and in this day and age chuckles are hard to come by.
