What is a Raelian Seminar?

These Seminars for the followers of the Raelian beliefs. They are not exactly holidays, but follow many of the characteristics of a holiday. Just like a religious holiday, it is about being happy, and in touch with your spirtiual self. However it is more of an event that almost all Raelians attend every year. The date varies by year and which continent you live on. The large seminar normally occurs around June or July. There are other smaller seminars, which take place throughout the year.

The Purpose

The purpose of the seminars are to let people who are new to the religion or old members to learn the Raelian ways. They also want to awaken the people of their potential, and make their lives better. Many people say it is very rejuvenating spiritually to the believer.

History

The history is very confusing. The religion itself started in 1973 when a French journalist named Rael was drioving in the countryside. He saw an alien, looking a lot like Michael Jackson, named Yahweh Elohim land on earth. The alien explained to him the means of our existance and that the idea of a god is false. Since then, he has spread the word in holiday like seminars, traditonally through spiritual relaxation.
