... The Blue Flame ...

You enter the third cavern and only a few steps in, you notice snow. Pure white, crystal-like snow litters the cavern floor. Your eyes trail to the walls; sleek, silver-blue walls. One wall has clean-cut engravings, so you decide to follow them out of sheer aimless bewilderment. The snow begins to cover the entire path and though it is cold enough to materialize your breath, it's a nice, crisp and refreshing cold. You smile as you take a deep breath of the pure air. You close your eyes and begin to hear a melodic song. Curious, you continue down the tunnel.

The roof suddenly rises up and the walls fall away to a huge cave. In the center is a rise of blue slate rock topped with emerald green grass and a single birch tree. Near the edge is a pond of crystal water that sparkles with Magick. The water spills over into a pond on a rise of stone infront and a little to the right of the taller one. The water from there falls into a pond in a shorter platform, infront and a little to the left of the last one. Finally the water is set free from the staircase of stone platforms into a pond, infront but a little to the right of the shortest platform. From that floor-pond, the water serpentines through another tunnel and out of sight. You look up to see the starry sky gazing down and the silver-white eye, the moon, with its infinite stare. Your eyes wander in search of some sort of life. You find what you're looking for and your gaze becomes twice as bewildered. The moonlight dances on a draconic figure. Her coal black scales keep her well hidden in the shadows, even with faint light dancing on the metallic blue walls. You follow the silver thread of light until it shines on some nasty looking spikes. You swallow back hard suddenly aware that this creature may want you for lunch and you dare not look up. A dark, melodic laugh makes your eyes move against your will. You gasp quietly at those auroral eyes. It looks as if a star has been trapped inside of them. She smiles slightly at your expression.

Dancing vagrantly, I do hide
From the ever-bright morning sky.
Shadow is my home to be
Forever keep the shadow, me.
I, the Eye, the Seer
I whom pierce the darkest secret.
I who knows who you be,
I who knows who shall see.
The raspy whisper with its harmonic dissonance of clicks and hisses ceases abruptly. You stand paralyzed by those eyes. Lost within their light, you suddenly feel as though a thick, hot blanket has been wrapped around you. Your lungs search for air that seems to have vanished. It squeezes you and the voice echoes in your mind again.
I, the Eye, the Seer,
Schatten-Licht, be I, your mistress.
So lonely is the heart that weeps,
Eternity trapped in madness keeps.
Sweet melancholy butterfly,
Does not kiss the sky.
Nor shall you ever find,
The light from which you came.
You heart skips a beat as your mind is given a jolt of reality. She couldn't... she wouldn't... oh Gaia, she can. She will! You struggle vainly as the Dragon begins to circle you. She shines a mouthful of gleaming white teeth in some sick and sinister grin. You were captivated by this cave's Magick and now by its Mistress. You close your eyes tightly and the tension around you disappears. You take a gulp of air but spare no time in getting your bearings. You run as fast as you can, never looking back until you reach the end of the tunnel. You breathe heavily and lean your head back. Bet she didn't see that coming, you smile weakly. A violent, raging, yet eerily beautiful, roar sends you running again.
