Relieved you lean against the smooth, rocky surface and breathe deeply. After a moment, you notice the rainforest humidity radiating from within the darkness of the cave. You furrow your brow but just as you go to take a step, a melodic yet menacing hiss echoes behind you. You don't have time to turn before you feel a small pinch in your neck and sink to the ground. You groan instinctively as you begin to awaken, your head throbs and your eyes burn. You hear strange voices arguing back and forth, getting louder and louder as you come out of your sleep. The language is unknown to you and the bittersweet sound of each hiss and growl is almost soothing. Finally, you find the strength to open your eyes and gasp in shock at the blood red eyes that stare back at you. The creature, looking much like some sort of canine, emits a hyena-like laugh and tickles your face with his snake tongue. "Greetingsss, I sssee you have ssstumbled acrosss our Haven but I sssugge-ss-t you leave before..." He turns his head as you hear claws against the stone floor. Your eyes widen as you see another hybrid creature approach you. She growls, a low, cat-like sound. You shake your head and try to regain your senses fully. First you look around for any means of escape. The cave walls seem to be made of scales. The ground begins to grow into full grass clumps further from you. You blink longingly noticing the vast amount of tropical trees and flowers that grow within this cave that is beginning to seem far larger than your expectation. You could risk running blindly out into the storm and possibly fall to your doom. A shiver turns your attention to the creature nearest to you.  He does seem mostly canine, with strange, linear markings around his eyes. Yes, those eyes, so chaotic and yet full of innocent mischief. He shifts slightly, a bit uncomfortable by your blank gaze. By moving his foreleg, the band decorated with tiny bells chimes. You smile slightly, the sound is an amusing relief. A malice-filled hiss-growl throws your attention to the shadow creeping out from the underbrush.  You look at the oddly-colored creature and its threatening look-to-kill. She crouches down suddenly, raising her spider legs and snaps at the air with ferocious growls. She feigns a lunge towards you, stops dead, turns on her heels and vanishes into the shadows. You watch in bewilderment at her speed and grace. "Never you mind, Oashau Gireka, she doesn't like visitors-zz." The canine creature grins toothily. " I am Yanuet Ashaira, a Felcan from The Nameless-ss Forest." You relax slightly and settle yourself against the wall that feels cool to the touch in comparison to the temperature in the cave. Yanuet grins and sits a few feet from you with an unidentifiable glint in his eyes. "Lady Reaper created this Magick cave for our benefit. We Felcan do not like crowded territories. Hardly anyone vi-zz-its the mountain and this ecos-ss-ystem more than sssatisssfieszz ussss. If ever you did wander through here, you would run into a whole messsss of different specieszz that we prey on." The Felcan has a very peculiar accent, not an actual slur, but it reminds you of a lisp. He twitches one ear backward and glances at the shifting darkness in the trees. You feel a hot breath parting your hair from somewhere above you. You look up to see the snarling fangs of Oashau Gireka and in response you yelp. Fleeing out into the storm, you find your way back to the base of the mountain. The wind carries their laughter with your descent. Mountain Realm Entrance Lady Reaper |
