Update #2 - 15th July 2002
Well, fellow Mulleteers... it's been over a month since my first ever Carl's Mullet, and what a month it has been, eh? I've received a couple of Reader's Mullet pictures and the first one is up now under the new "Reader's Mullet's" section of the website. Speaking of the new sections of the website, I hope you like the new design and features. Ok, it's not CGI but what do you expect for a damn Mullet site?
Ok, enough of the shenanigans. I have taken more pictures of Carl's Mullet. So ladies and gentlemen, I hope you are excited, because here is Carl's Mullet as of the 15th of July 2002...

Wow... is that a sight for sore eyes or what? I think you'd agree, my mullet has come a long, long way since my last update. It's bigger, it's longer, it's fluffier, it's greasier. Every aspect of my mullet has evolved. In fact, let's take a look at this month and last month's pictures of the mullet together, so we can marvel at the difference that just a month has made...

Amazing. Just look at the difference. It looks slightly tidier, but don't let that put you off. Now, if you look ever so closely, it actually looks like I have lost some of the puffiness on top, the loft insulation so to speak. It's a trick of the light. Trust me. It simply looks that way because of the puffiness in the sides. It has evened out in what could, but shouldn't, be classed as an afro. Another thing I have lost is the curviness of the hair around the ear. Now, it's just crawling across my face towards my eyes. My sideburns have decided against settling in my ears and are now making a break for my mouth if they should reach, I run the risk of getting a hairball in my stomach. Never fear, I will try and stop the sideburns before they crawl into my mouth. Who knows where they will decide to go next? Another thing I have lost is the scalp you can see in month one... my scalp is now fully covered, my hair now cooperating in one big glorious mass. One aspect that I haven't lost is the 'double fringe'. It went away a while during week two and three, but it has just made a reappearence, possibly for the website. Look a tthe colour of each mullet. Look at the fairness of the latest picture. Could that be a results of a couple of weeks of sun? Me thinks so. It's also lost some of it's greasyness which was starting to make my mullet look grey. I am now washing it at least once a week this could be why. Look.. even my hedge has changed colour. Fantastic.
Any questions you may have on your mind...
What? You only wash your hair ONCE a week? Listen pal, if you want the proper texture and feel of the mullet you can only wash it about once a week. I've found that if I wash it too frequently it kinda flattens and looks really dry like a wedge or something. Don't believe me? Just ask Jeffery Winkler.
Have you got a name for the mullet yet? As it happens, yes! Yes I do have a name for the mullet. But more about that later.
Can your fringe reach your eyebrows yet? Uh huh... but only if I pull it down. As it stands, it is about a centermetre away from my monobrow. not long until it reaches my eyes.
Mullet of the Moment
Ok, that's my mullet for the time being... here is my celebrity mullet of the moment!

The official Carl's Mullet's Mullet of the moment is... Mike! Mike is the bassist for upcoming band Thoria. His band mates say "He does a good line in mullets". Carl says "He does a good line in mullets". Mike is helping to keep mullet fever alive in the world of music. Since the eighties ended along with mullets, mullets have been hard to come by when it comes to music - Mike is against that. He is one of the few rock stars that aren't too bothered about their image. When asked how often Mike cleans his mullet he replied "wash?!" In typical mullet-lover fashion. Mike... 'nuff respect, mullet on, grow it longer.
Respect to Jordan Taylor
Many thanks to Jordan Taylor. He e-mailed me a week ago with a list of names for the mullet, oddly enough they all started with the letter M. one of them stood out as the perfect name for Carl's Mullet... so, from this day forth, my mullet's name will be...
Marvin Jeffers
Yes, that's right... Marvin Jeffers. It was either that or Rupert Jones. I think I made the right choice. I considered getting it christened as Marvin Jeffers, however when asked Marvin said "I do not conform to the Christian religion, and I never will." Marvin has made his feelings on religion clear.
Mullet Sleeps...
Yes, that's right. Just like you and I, Marvin the Mullet needs his beauty sleep.. to recharge his batteries. However, while you and I like to sleep in beds, Marvin preferes not to. Marvin preferes sleeping in a strange place, in a different strange place every time. Some of them are dangerous, some are unhygienic, some are even in the great outdoors. And so, without further conversation... here is where Marvin Jeffers slept last night...

Under a caravan wheel
Yes, that's right. Under a ton heavy caravan wheel. Silly, silly mullet. I hope the handbrakes been put on properly... otherwise we could have a severly squashed mullet on our hands, and believe you me, the NHS don't pay for surgery on mullets. When asked about his choice of bedding, Marvin replied "Sure, it's a bit cobwebby, dirty, uncomfortable and cold, but I got a good night's sleep underneath that caravan, not a drop of rain I felt. Why didn't I sleep inside the caravan, you ask? The occupant is a complete tosser." Straight from the mullet's mouth, folks. More of Marvin sleeps in the coming weeks.
