Celebrity Mole - Episode 2

Clips (with an unappealing narrative from Ahmad) start the evening. He continues to dumb down the game. The same dumb clips of each celebrity saying they're the Mole come before the actual episode starts. And since Kim was executed last week, we can be pretty sure she's not as "Mole-licious" as she claims to be.

Corbin: "I'm on the scent of the Mole."

Stephen: "Erik...I don't think he's the Mole. He's an idiot."

Erik: "Why would I be able to play brilliant mind games with them? Why would I be able to make them think I am the Mole?"

Frederique speaks Dutch.

Stephen: "Frederique...I can make you a star."

The players eat breakfast, the day after the first execution.

Kathy: "I can't believe there's only been one execution. I'm constantly executing people in my own head. I get irritated with someone, and then I just execute them.

"I've executed Stephen Baldwin in my head like 14 times. And they're always bloody and gory."

Kathy cusses (the first of about a billion times) about Stephen hitting her.

Stephen: "In war, you know, you have to try to get your opponent to be as confused and off-balance as you possibly can."

Stephen then massages her, much to the chagrin of Michael.

Kathy: "If Baldwin's executed, good riddance. Can't get him out of here fast enough."

Ahmad muses on the uptightness of the players. This next game, the first of the day, is worth an unusual amount of $24,000. This game will let the players relive their younger days doing odd jobs. Ahmad needs two lifeguards, two short-order cooks, and two flight attendants.

Flight attendant is an odd job?

Stephen suggests they pair the players with their actual skills. The players are Michael and Erik are the lifeguards, the ladies, Kathy and Frederique are the short-order cooks, and Corbin and Stephen are the flight attendants.

It's time to head off to their new jobs, but Ahmad will first explain to each team individually what they will do. He first takes the lifeguards away.

Michael and Erik both seem to regret signing up to be lifeguards. Michael thinks they should have been the short-order cooks.

Stephen swipes Corbin's journal but he quickly gives it back, because he knows Corbin can really beat him up. Corbin asks for his pen back, and Stephen pretends to throw it away.

Ahmad comes back for the flight attendants.

Corbin promises to kick Stephen's ass if he messes with his stuff again, and punches him once for Kathy.

Ahmad comes back for the short order cooks. They will have to walk across a hot bed of lava.

The lifeguards have to dive off a 40 foot cliff.

The flight attendants have to attend a flight as a biplane does aerial stunts.

Each player is asked to record a video prediction if the other players (in the other "jobs") can complete their task. Each correct prediction wins $1,000, and with 24 predictions made, that's $24,000 possible.

Stephen's task is to clean an instrument panel in a biplane while the pilot spins around in the air. Screaming, he does it.

Stephen: "This game is flipping me out. I was just, 'Dear Lord, Jesus, please.

"I felt delirious. We were bouncing and turning and I was just hanging on for dear life, loving it.

"I have had an absolute fabulous experience here, playing this game. But I think, you guys, next time, should go a little bit more easy."

Easier??? All he did was wipe off an instrument panel! Sure he may have been queasy but this is not a difficult thing to do.

The cliff divers each have 5 minutes to jump.

Erik: "When I walked up to the cliff, I was just going to jump as quickly as possible. I had no idea that I was going to be jumping into something with underwater caves and 3-foot swells coming in.

"I can go over the disadvantages and advantages of jumping, and what the other players would think about it, but I think I gotta go with my gut instinct on this. I need to just jump with it."

A spotter tells Erik how and where to jump. He tells Erik to hit a swell. After a countdown, Erik successfully makes the jump.

Erik: "It was thrilling, jumping off that cliff. I know I'd do it ten times again."

It's now time for the short order cooks. Ahmad demonstrates to Kathy that the stones she will walk on are hot enough to evaporate water on contact. Specifically, what she has to do is walk across the hot lava to retrieve a chicken an indeterminable distance away.

Kathy: "Walking on hot rocks to get a chicken? I can go to a restaurant. A nice one. I make that kind of money."

I have found my least favorite player. All along I have felt that I could tolerate and perhaps even like this show if the celebrities' fame wasn't the central issue. With Griffin it is. What are you gonna do?

Grimacing all the way, Kathy makes it to the chicken. Grimacing all the way, she makes it back. The music here is especially cool, pounding drumbeats as she's on the rocks and a refreshing, almost sopophoric Hawaiian-like melody as her feet are in a puddle, presumably a cool one.

Kathy: "I...I could've died. Easily."

Yep, no doubt about it.

With Erik's completed, Michael now has 5 minutes to do his cliff dive.

Michael: "Well, my wife and I had a long conversation in which she literally said, 'Don't jump off of anything too high, because if you fall backwards, you could break your neck.' And literally, that's the voice that came back to me up there on the rock. And that's when I started to have doubts."

The spotter counts down. Michael loses his footing and does not jump. He still has time as the scene shifts to Frederique.

Frederique: "When I first walked out there, and I saw fire and steam and everything, I thought, 'There's no way.'"

She walks across quickly, not seemingly bothered much by the heat of the stone.

Back at Michael, he runs out of time.

Michael: "I wanted to do it. I wanted to try it. It's kinda one of those things I've always said 'I'd like to do that.' I realize that this is not the game, whether I jump off of this rock or not. The game is, you know, they asked me to vote what I thought the other people were going to do, and I said 'Oh, wow, okay. Does it really matter if I jump off the rock or not?'"

Corbin was not able to attempt his task due to inclement weather. Accepting on faith that he would have done it, $4,000 is won for correct predictions.

Frederique completed her job, and Stephen, Michael, Erik, and Corbin all predicted she would. Another $4,000 won.

Kathy did her task, but only Erik and Michael predicted she would. $2,000 won there.

Erik successfully jumped. Corbin, Stephen, Frederique, and Kathy all thought he would, winning another $4,000.

Michael did not do his jump. Corbin, Stephen, Frederique, and Kathy all thought he would, so no money is earned there.

Corbin: "I knew that Erik would do it, because he's 20, and he hasn't established the concept of death yet. Michael, I thought would do it and I was a little bit surprised that he didn't do it. Which of course cast some suspicion on him."

Kathy: "Michael looks very moley. He was probably the Mole who was also afraid to jump off a cliff."

Stephen completed his task as a flight attendant in a biplane. Erik, Frederique, and Kathy all thought he would do it, but Michael didn't. So only $3,000 won there.

Frederique: "Now, not jumping is one thing. But actually saying that Stephen Baldwin was not going to succeed? I mean, that was ridiculous. I mean, if there was one person who would do it, it's him. So, it's so suspicious to me."

TEST PASSED - +$17,000

TOTAL - $67,000

Stephen: "I got to tell you people something right now: if Michael's the Mole, he's gonna wish he'd never been born."

The players head off on a little ocean adventure for their next game.

Kathy: "At first, I'm looking around, and I'm enjoying the scenery. And then my nausea just starts to hit me, and I'm thinking 'Oh my gosh, I didn't bring any motion sickness pills.' I made Michael Boatman my horizon. I was just staring at him. I'm sure he thinks that either I think he's the Mole or I have a crush on him."

The players notice bubbles coming to the water's surface and wonder as to the source.

Stephen: "I'm like, 'Great, they're gonna put weights on us and make us go to like a sandbar and make an omelet. Who knows? You know...it's the Underwater Omelet Game."

A submarine rises, bearing the name "Das Mole."

Ahmad needs two players to board the submarine, two players to play charades, and two players to be gravediggers.

The submarine boarders are Stephen and Frederique, the charades will be done by Corbin and Michael, and Kathy and Erik will do the grave digging.

Kathy: "I was thinking, 'We're gonna have to like, scuba to the floor of the ocean and dig up fish bones."

Stephen and Frederique board the sub.

Michael and Corbin will play charades underwater at night, outside "Das Mole" in scuba gear. They must convey the names of TV shows and movies in which someone has died. Stephen and Frederique on the sub will guess the answers.

If they get the answers right, they must send them to Kathy and Erik in a graveyard bearing actors names and years, who must then dig up the coffin of the actor who played the character that died.

They have 15 minutes for the game. Charades starts with a four word movie title with OU in the first word. Stephen and Frederique are stumped, so they tell Michael to pass, and go on to the next title.

Frederique: "For a moment there, I got really nervous because Michael pulled the first one and it was like, he was pretending too much. He started to act a little bit."

Stephen: "This game's sick, and it's, uh...pissing me off.

"Michael, in my opinion, is trying to act like the Mole.

"I'm gonna hunt you down, Mikey. Piss me off, and I'll probably retaliate."

They have extreme difficulty with the first one, so they much on to another with Corbin.

His first clue is necklace...kind of. Pearl necklace...yes, that's it. PEARL...PEARL HARBOR.

Stephen radios the answer PEARL HARBOR to the gravediggers.

Kathy: "When we heard that first title come in, I felt great. I was like, okay, here we go.

"That was the worst part. I hadn't seen it!

"He saw it but he couldn't remember who died! He was like, 'I think it was Josh Hartnett.'"

They find Josh Hartnett. That answer is correct, and they pull out a chest from that grave.

Kathy: "When we were taking out the caskets, Erik accidentally lifted the lid a little bit. So he took it out, he brought it back, and I said, 'Was the 25 grand in there? What did you see?'"

It had just a skeleton. There was no money in it.

The next charade begins. Movie, 3 words. First word, Michael looks around quizzically. Stephen guesses WHAT and it's right. Second word, sleep, laying...what sleeps, what lies...they get the answer WHAT LIES BENEATH and radio it to the gravediggers, who look for Michelle Pfeiffer, then Harrison Ford. Erik finds Harrison Ford.

Kathy: "I have moments where it's not that I'm thinking the game is absurd, I'm thinking how absurd it is that I am playing the game. I cannot believe that I am in a graveyard with the kid from Dinotopia digging up Harrison Ford's grave. That's weird."

The answer is correct and they remove the "casket."

Next charade. TV show, 2 words. Corbin points all four directions but emphasizes down. Stephen says SOUTH, and gets SOUTH PARK, and is surprised when that is right. He has no idea who died on that show.

Kathy: "Erik then went right into Kenny and then started doing some kind of South Park voice. I think he started saying 'I'm gonna bring you back, Kenny, or 'Don't worry, Kenny.' All of a sudden, he was in a coalition with Kenny."

Kenny has a number of death dates on his headstone. They remove the casket from that one.

Charades is back to Michael with the first one. Little, tiny, small first syllable. Stephen wants to switch to Corbin's third one but Frederique tells him to stick with Michael's.

Kathy wonders who died in that slow movie, with Michelle Yeow. Erik just says Hidden Dragon, but he doesn't know who died. Kathy thinks Michelle Yeow was from that movie.

Singing, sounds like ou...sing, ou...ing. It's apparently on the tip of Frederique's tongue.

Second word...claw, cat...bigger, tiger! Stephen is able to put CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON together and radios it to the gravediggers.

Kathy: "When I saw Michelle Yeow, I thought, okay, it's going to be Crouching Tiger, and I was thinking who died? Who died? And just remember that final scene where she's in a cave with Chow Yun Fat and then he dies."

Chow Yun Fat dies in that movie, so they unearth his grave. It is the correct casket.

Michael begins the last charade. Movie, 2 words. He points at Frederique for the second word, and they come up with BEAUTY. First syllable, A. Second syllable, ME. He gives a very...interesting rhyming clue for the fourth syllable of the first word.

Time is up. They can't quite get AMERICAN BEAUTY.

Stephen: "Look, if the goal of the Mole is to keep money out of the pot, Michael's in big trouble."

Corbin: "Michael could be the Mole. But Michael is not the Mole. If you're telling me that Mr. Baldwin, who's pretty knowledgeable of films, especially ones with Kevin Spacey, Usual Suspects, could not pull out "American" in front of "Beauty," Stephen Baldwin blew the answer."

They did get 4 of the 5 caskets. They still have a chance to win the $25,000, since it could be in one of the four they have.

It's not in Chow Yun Fat.

Just bones in Kenny.

Ahmad now offers them a deal. He'll give them $5,000 to quit now, or they can keep looking for the $25,000.

Frederique: "When they offered the $5,000, I was like, yeah, up yours, we're going for the $25,000."

They decide to go for it.

It's not in Harrison Ford.

Ahmad has another offer. He will give them $10,000 to call it off right now, or they can look for the $25,000 in Josh Hartnett. Corbin reasons that Pearl Harbor is a Hawaiian movie, and they are in Hawaii. Erik for some reason wants to open it, despite having already seen inside it and knowing there's nothing in it but a skeleton.

Kathy: "We were offered the gamble, and Erik knew by inadvertantly opening the casket that there were just bones in there.

"So I looked at him, and I was going, take the $10,000, you know."

Kathy goes on record that they should take the $10k. The gravediggers have to make the decision. Erik decides to go for it. Ahmad opens the casket and there's nothing in it but a skeleton.

Kathy can't believe it. She goes ballistic on Erik, as he deserves. But it all seems a bit forced.

Kathy: "I couldn't believe it. He saw the inside of the casket. He saw that there were just bones in there. I wanted to kill him!"

Frederique: "The diggers...now there's some very iffy story going on there."

TEST FAILED

TOTAL - $67,000

Ahmad opens the Kevin Spacey casket, and there be the loot.

Erik: "I've been working with Kathy. It's a hidden coalition."

Kathy: "I took a second and thought, I'm in a coalition with the Mole."

At dinner, Ahmad says he feels for the players missing the $25,000, so he will give them another chance. There will also be an exemption offered at this time. The group will vote on who gets the exemption, but it has to be a unanimous decision. If the group can decide unanimously, that person will receive an exemption and $25,000 will be won. If there is no unanimous decision, $25,000 is removed from the pot. 30 minutes, and a decision must be made.

Kathy: "The dinner from hell began, and it was awesome.

"Baldwin went around the table and started with me, and I said, 'I'd like an exemption.'"

After the first go-round, Corbin votes for Erik and gets everyone on his side besides Frederique and Michael

Kathy: "Erik?!? And now I'm thinking, 'Oh great. I already had 2 votes, and now it's looking Erik's way."

Corbin now says that he'd rather lose the money than give someone an exemption. Stephen convinces Frederique to change her vote.

The exemption now lays in Corbin's hands. Corbin will vote for himself, and no one else.

Michael reasons that they all have to vote for Corbin, or get him to change his vote.

Frederique: "Corbin suddenly became very hard-headed."

Michael: "Corbin managed to sort of slow the whole process down. Which of course is the Mole's job."

Frederique: "It was a pathetic moment of the group."

Kathy: "I'm watching you Bernsen. Same goes for you, Baldwin."

Stephen says he was the youngest of six, picked on his whole life, and goes for the exemption himself. He won't change his vote, and he'll personally put up $25,000 that he won't.

Kathy: "I'm thinking, 'Oh, for God's sake get over it! Baldwin's 36 all right? I really don't want to hear about being beaten up by Alec Baldwin, which doesn't sound like it'd be that bad, frankly."

Ahmad tells them they have 2 and a half minutes left. Kathy refers to this as the "Griffin family Christmas."

There is now less than 1 minute left. Michael wants a reverse exemption to guarantee he is kicked off tonight.

Time is up.

TEST FAILED - -$25,000

TOTAL - $42,000

Ahmad makes a toast to the vulnerability of all the players to execution.

Now it's time for the quiz.

1. Is the Mole male or female?

Corbin: "It all came together in the graveyard. Erik knew there would be just bones in there."

2. When Ahmad revealed the results at the conclusion of the Underwater Charades game last night, who was standing to the left of the Mole?

3. What pets does the Mole have?

Frederique: "Kathy could definitely be the Mole. She has the right amount of being funny, the right amount of pretending certain things."

4. What "job" did the Mole have at yesterday's Job Game?

5. What is the Mole's favorite place they've traveled to?

6. What team was the Mole on during the Underwater Charades game?

Erik: "I think that they would've got American Beauty since it's a recent movie. So maybe that's Baldwin's way of sabotaging it."

7. Is the Mole's room number even or odd?

8. What was the Mole's peculiar odd job before becoming famous?

Stephen: "Corbin's really good at the mind game. If Corbin's not the Mole, then he has played the game very well."

9. Did the Mole succeed in their task during the Jobs Game?

10. Who is the Mole?

Stephen: "To be the Mole, or not to be the Mole...that is the question."

Now for the execution. Click the pictures below. If a green screen appears, that player remains in the game. If a red screen appears, that player is executed.
