Mood:  d'oh

Sr BC had to be taken to the hospital a little more than a week ago and had to have open-heart and triple bypass surgery on this past Monday...almost a week ago now.  We've been going to the hospital nearly every day to see her (well, Sr Suz has been there every day).  It's going to be a long recovery....

I am almost done with the reversible vest that I'm making.  I'm going to be sooo excited to finally wear it.  I think I'll wear one side of it on Thanksgiving at the Sisters' gathering, and the other side at the next Province Day.

The weeks are going sooo fast!  We've passed Halloween and now are looking forward to Thanksgiving.  As I said earlier, the Sisters are having a gathering...and I'll go to that, but I also have to go to my parents' house and participate in their celebration as well.  My sister and her husband are coming over and bringing their dog.  It will be nice to see them again.

My meetings seem to be going better with the vocation director.  I'm glad.  Maybe I'll get news as to when I can become a postulant.  I'd be excited to hear about that.  I've just gotta keep plugging away at things though.  I've been living with these Sisters for almost a year now.  Since January of this year.

Halloween on Wednesday was fun.  I really loved dressing up for the Sisters' party.  There was another Sister who wore something similar to what I wore.  She grabbed me and we both walked around together..though I didn't know who it was because she was in costume.  It was a blast, though. 

Thursday I came home to a note that they had to take Sr BC to the hospital.  They say she has heart problems.  Please keep her in your prayers.

Today was Province Day...the second one that I've been invited to attend.  I was super excited about it because usually I'd be told that they didn't pertain to me.  I'm glad that I'm being included in those now.  I really feel like I belong.  I was happy to join in the Sisters' talks about what's going on in the province.

I saw my former boss there and told her that I hoped she had a good birthday.  I made her an angel in August when I'd left that job...and kept it wrapped up really pretty under my bed until her birthday in October.  I hope she liked it.  I still miss conversations with her terribly, but I don't know if our relationship can be mended.  I'm kinda sad about that.

I am going to try to make a reversible vest.  I wonder how it will turn out?  I found this really neat sunflower material and I'll use it along with some other material that I had.  I've never made a vest before and I hope that I'll do ok.  The pattern doesn't tell how to make it reversible.  I hope I can figure it out.  I'll probably need help on that.

Well, the Sisters are going to have a Halloween party at the Heights.  I'm really looking forward to it!  I'm going to dress up to see if anyone can guess who I am.  From what I've heard, alot of the other Sisters dress up too and you have to guess who they are.  It should be really exciting!!!

I bought my costume at several different places.  At one of the places that I went one of the Sisters was there and said she was going to follow me around to see what I was going to wear...LOL.  She didn't really, but that shows how much effort is put into concealing one's identity at this party.

I don't think that the vocation director will be going.  That's a bummer.  Oh well...there's always next year.  I hope that the provincial gets home from Uganda in time.  It would be awesome if she were there.

To touch my costume off, I found these gloves at the flea market that the school next door is having.  Sr N said that I could have the gloves.  Little later I found out that they are "nun gloves".  I was just going to use them to conceal the fact that I don't have a ring because I'm not professed.  LOL.  Hopefully I'll fool them!

Tonight I'm going to go swimming with Sr Suz.  I'm looking forward to it, though I've still got lots to do before that time.  I've got to finish work (I get off at 5:30pm), then I have to go see my therapist. After that, I'll drive home and Sister Suz will meet me in the parking lot and we'll go to the place where we'll swim.  It's been awhile since I've gone swimming.  At least a year.  I think the last time I went swimming I was up in Chardon visiting my friend Sister Sandy.  That was lots of fun...but a year ago...

I've giving away one of my Cabbage Patch dolls to my friend Rhonda.  I had renamed the doll Aidia Lisette when I had "adopted" it from the store.  I am sure that it will have a good home with my friend and will be loved.  I know that she watches some of her younger cousins, so there will be plenty of children around to enjoy the doll.  I dressed the doll in the clothing of one of the other dolls that I had..something that I've not done before because I really liked the dress that the doll had been wearing.

I put a cross around the doll's neck to serve as a reminder to Rhonda that God loves her.  I think it looks pretty nice on the doll and I can't wait for Rhonda to pick it up (the doll).  I wrapped her up all nice and neat and will leave her with someone who will see Rhonda before I do.

This week is really busy for me.  Tonight I have a meeting and tomorrow I'm going to the Heights for a meeting, then on Weds I see my spiritual director.  On Thursday I have another meeting at the Heights...this one Sr MN is coming with me...that should be interesting...pray for me that that one goes well.  I don't know what I've got on Friday, but hopefully I'll be able to relax a little.

A little while ago we celebrated Sr Suz's birthday.  I had set up that all the singing people would come out and sing happy birthday to her at the restraunt, but they forgot.  Later learned that it was probably a good thing that they forgot because Sr Suz doesn't like that kind of thing.  Oh well!

This weekend my family is celebrating my mom and dad's birthdays.  I took them a boquet of flowers--there were a couple of sunflowers and a couple of roses amoung the boquet, so I was happy with it.  My sister and her husband are coming down from Columbus and we're going out to eat.  I hope that they bring the puppy. 

I love their little puppy it's alot less fiesty than the dog that the Sisters own.  The dog that the Sisters own is a mix between a Westie and a mexican jumping bean.  That dog could jump over me, I'm sure.  My sister and her husband have a Shih-tzu dog named Daphne.  Daphne's so cute.  I could probably see if I can upload a picture of her so that you can see how cute she is.

Today there was a famous person who came to my workplace to visit the kids.  It was Nick Lachey.  I don't really know much about him but the fact that at where I used to work, some of my coworkers talked about their crushes on him.  Each classroom got their pictures taken with him.  My kids were somewhat afraid of him...it's not like they knew who he was...or that he's famous for something.  They didn't know about the celebrity in their midst.

Isn't that kind of how the apostles were around Jesus?  They didn't really have the faintest idea that the Son of God was in their midst at first.  How were they to know?  It's not like he wore a nametag that said "Hello, I'm Jesus the Son of God".  That would have been too easy...  The apostles had to recognise him as being that for themselves.  Some of them still had trouble with that on the road to Emmaus.

Just something to think about.

On Saturday I was in the small crowd that saw the provincial off on her way to Uganda.  She'll be there for a month.  Godspeed.

The dog got ahold of my bag last night and chewed several holes into it.  He also chewed up my lunch bag.  The other bag is repairable...actually I already fixed it to my liking, but I'm not sure if the lunch bag will be fixable.  Oh well.  I did leave it sitting on the chair, so it's not really the dog's fault.  He was just being a puppy and doing what puppies do..chew...

I was really exhaused when I came home and I didn't think twice about the whole not leaving things where the dog could get ahold of it and chew it up thing...

Anyways...can't cry over spilt milk.

Woohoo!  It's Wednesday!  Only two more days of work for this week.  Gee, the weeks seem to go so fast.  I'm happy about that.  My workday doesn't seem so long, even though I work a little longer now.  I like my break-time.  I can read or whatever I want and feel like I've gotten a little accomplished besides my job.

Saturday I see the vocation director.  I'm looking forward to it!  I also get to spend a little of that day with one of the Sisters who just made her first profession not too long ago.  I'm looking forward to that too!  I'll have lunch (which the Sisters call dinner here) with her and then on to my meeting with the vocation director.

I got to attend my first province day on Saturday with the Sisters!  I was nervous that I really wouldn't know much about what was going on, but I was able to participate in the table discussions that we had and was even asked for my opinion when I didn't speak up.  I really felt like I was a part of that group.  I feel sooooo blessed!

On Sunday I got to go to a newly remodeled church that some of the Sisters work at.  Since I'd never been there before I didn't know what it had looked like before the remodel, but it was really nice.  We went into the undercroft to have snacks and talk a little.  My old boss was there and I could tell that she was still not happy with me, so I really tried not to cross her path too much.  I did give her a hug though.

The Sisters that we were visiting had a player piano in their house.  Sr BC and I were the only two out of the group from the church that went over to the house.  Everyone else went on their way.  The piano was the old kind of player piano that you have to pump with your feet.  It was kind-of like riding an exercize bike.  Anyways, Sr BC couldn't get over the fact that I actually pumped that thing for two hours straight playing roll after roll of music.  I had soooo much fun!  Then after that, Sr R joined me at the bench and we tried to pick out the song "Heart and Soul".  (I play by ear, and only knew a part of the song...she knew the rest!)

This is my week to lead prayer.  I'm not totally excited, but I'll get over it.  Leading things is just not my cup of tea.  I do just fine following things instead of leading!  I guess that this is just going to be something that will be a growing edge for me.

Friday is Sister Suz's birthday.  I wonder if we will go out to eat to celebrate!

I've been feeling a little under the weather for the past few days.  I don't know what's up, but I can't afford to go to the doctor's office yet because I'm not insured at the moment.  My tummy has been hurting.  I hope that I can find something that would be healthy for me to take, like peppermint tea or something of the sort...instead of medicine.  Medicine seems to do alot of bad things to your system just to "fix" one illness.

 Please pray for me.

I also have a meeting tomorrow with the vocation director and my therapist.  I need to have some goals stated out.

I've got a new job!  It's a little hectic and I don't really know how I feel about it, but it's all in God's hands.  My new boss seems nice, and so do my new coworkers.

I hope I didn't alienate my last boss.  I really wished that she was a friend and not my boss.  It would have been nice to talk with her about lots of things in the community.  She's the closest to my age in this province.

I got two new fish, one's name is Persephone and the other's name is Hermione.  Persephone is red and Hermione is yellow.  They are really neat to watch in the little tank that I  have.

Today my sister and her husband came over to meet the Sisters that I live with and to see where I live.  I think that they had a good time.  The Sisters certainly had a good time talking with them.  Now all they have to do is meet my sister's dog and they would have met all of my immediate family.

I made a present for my former boss's birthday.  It's still a whole month or so before I can give it to her though.  I hope that by then she'd be ok with talking with me.
