- Prince Leonard in Nothampton’s annual event

The Northampton Airing of the quilts is an annual affair on the second Saturday of the WA third term school holidays.

During this festival they hang quilts out on the buildings, and make it a festive time with a street parade, stalls and generally welcome people to it. Visitors can see an exquisite array of colourful patchwork quilts hung from buildings down the mainstreet.

The Hutt River Province is located about 20 minutes from Northampton, and Prince Leonard participated in the festivities where he met the HRPP representative in South Australia, Maggie Harding. She participated also in the dress up parade as a “town crier”.
