Paul was first seen on Ramsay street as a boy that Harold had met at a Salvation army Basketball course. Harold and Madge offered him a home with them and he moved in. He had a brief relationship with Hannah Martin before she and her parents moved away. He then devolped a crush on his new neighbour Felicity Scully but she was not interested in him. Tad Reeves became Paul's best mate when he arrived on Ramsey street. Tad stayed with his cousin Toadie before he also moved in with Harold and Madge. Paul develpoed an interest in football and was soon playing for a local team before he was spotted by a coach of a senior team, the Dingoes and was invited to play for them. However, Paul was not popular in the Dingoes as he was younger. a team member, Nathan offered Paul steroids but Paul rejected them and told the team doctor, Karl Kennedy. Nathan was suspended and Paul became even more unpopular within the team. Paul was upset when Madge died from cancer but continued with his football. The team coach did not want Paul on the team though and did not let Paul play much, although when he did play he proved himself to be a good player. He and Tad fell out when they both fancied the same girl - Larissa. Paul had met her whilst in France but Tad had been e-mailing her, pretending to be Paul. When Larissa came to Erinsborough she dated both Tad and Paul behind the others back. This led to a huge fallout between them but they eventually made up. When Paul started coaching younger kids football he thought his luck was out when he argued with an angry parent, who turned out to be a talent scout from the national league. Paul thought that this was the end to any possible football career but he was surprised when he got contacted and asked to try out for a national team. The draft didn't go too well, with Paul accidently shoving the coach over but he got called back. He gathered in the pub with his friends to watch the selections and was disappointed when he did not get selected for the team that he had hoped. However in true Neighbours fashion as Lou was going to switch the tv off Paul got picked for another team, who hadn't spoken to Paul. Paul's departure was hurried and he said a teary farewell to Tad and Harold at his leaving party in the pub where speeches were made and Tad gave him a present - a photo of Paul, Tad and Flick. His last scene involved a kiss from Flick and an exit from the pub, with a brief salute/wave in the direction of the camera.
