Group Activities

  • Try to get involved with the community (if you're out of the proverbial broom closet) and educate people about your religion.
  • Host an Open Sabbat ritual for those in your community.
  • Raise a May Pole and weave bright colored ribbons around it.
  • Make May Baskets and give them to people who stay in Homes for the Elderly. A lot of older people used to receive them in their youth, and will remember and appreciate the gesture.
  • If you are able to, have a bonfire and do your ritual near it. Bonfires are a very traditional practice during the Beltaine season.

Activities for Kids

  • Make May Baskets to give to family and friends.
  • Read stories about springtime together. Again, try The Meagan Stories. The author, Kat Dyer has written some wonderful stories about all sorts of things important to children.
  • Talk to your children about Beltaine. Answer any questions your children may have about Beltaine. Try to not give them too much information, they may not need to know the answers to some things, or they may just not be ready. But give them simple, honest answers when they do ask you things.
