In the space, patterns

And was she asleep then when the smudge,
the ink spot
slid silently up the wall?

In the space, she was traveling
(this was when things became silent)

The smudge, stuck here,
then changing shape, flew off

How it felt to be free

Resting in a cool envelope
the space she lay in
