Brocade Standard Poodles is a small show kennel located in Olympia, WA.  All of our dogs are family members and live in our home on just over one-half acre.

Our first standard poodle, Tango, was a rescue.  Tango came to live with us in 1979 at the young age of sixteen months.  She had been through five homes before she came to us where she lived the next 12 years.

In 1995 we had the opportunity to purchase a darling black year-old standard poodle from Marlene Miller, Ch. Kalistas d'Retriva.  Rive was our first show dog.  She finished quickly earning majors with stiff competition at the Rose City shows in Portland, OR in 1997.

At the time we finished Riva, there was a beautiful white Special being shown by Tim Brazier.  We had the opportunity to purchase Vavoom from Bouquet Kennels with Tim's facilitation.

Vavoom was bred in 1998 to Am. Dan. Intl. Ch. Pinafore Proud Boy owned by Yvonne Hagman of Avion Standard Poodles.  The resulting litter produced ten healthy white puppies, two boys and eight girls.  Of the ten puppies, 6 girls were AKC Champions and 5 girls were Canadian Champions.

Am. Can. Ch. Brocade Crystal Tailwind was the last of the Vavoom daughters to start her show career.  She finished in the US and was moved up to BOV and received a Group 1 and Group 2.  With those nice wins, we decided to lightly special her.  She won multiple Best in Show awards and Best in Breed in Specialty wins.  Dottie was breed in 2003 to King's Champagne Taste ("Andy").  The resulting litter produced 2 white boys, 1 white girl, 1 black boy and 5 black girls.  Ch. Brocade Reach for the Skyye owned by John and Karen Calkins and shown by Margie and Tim Sullivan is a Top Producer from that litter.

The newest member of our family is Ch. Kindred's Highgate Noelle at Brocade.  Noelle was bred by Karen and Dick Clausen.   During her show career she won majors at the January 2012 Puget Sound Poodle Club Specialty and Columbia Poodle Specialty and was finished handily by Margie and Tim Sullivan winning another major under judge Judy Webb at the Portland Rose City Classic Show.  On the 7th of July 2012, Noelle completed her Grand Championship winning the breed and receiving a Group IV again being shown by the wonderful and caring team, Margie and Tim Sullivan.
