From the Heart-Chapter 3
"Ok, boys", Brian said getting the boys attention. "It's come to my attention that we need a break! Only a mini break though. Where shall we go?"
"NYC!!!!" AJ answered quickly "I need to shop!"
"I totally jsut need to get away from everything", Nick said quietly looking outside at birds chirpping in his tree. "I know", he said louder.
"What bro?!?!!?" Brian asked.
"A camping trip!"Nick said.
"Yah! That would be totally relaxing", Kevin agreed.
"That sounds like it might be fun,"Howie said.
"WHAT?!?! no city lights? Or fumes from cars?? How will I live?!?! " AJ questioned, dead serious.
"well, JOhnny Suede, I think you'll do just fine!" Howie said laughing at the new identity AJ made up. (He likes it, dont' get him wrong, he just htinks of it a little strange,
and a new and unknown territory.)
"well it's settled then! In two days we head off for four full days of camping fun!" Brian said thinking 'I wihs there was something I could do to help Nick. I am jsut glad the other boys caught on and agreed with him. But, really, How muhc fun is fishing, sleeping on the hard ground and bugs going to be for a bunch of us city boys??'
Two Days Later....
Nick put his sleeping bag in the green family van that the boys were borrowing and gave directions to AJ on how to get to the Carter family deserted campground.
Brian and Nick were going in the van with all the boys' stuff, and everyone else was giogn with AJ.
"Bye you guys! Call if you have any problems, but remember roughing it is all the fun!" Nick's mom said.
"Ya, see ya in four days mom." Nick said pulling out of the driveway, honking when he got to the end, then taking off for four days full of new experiences...... and new people.
