As predicted here last week Henrik Larsson did finally put pen to paper on a four year deal which ties him to Celtic until 2003. Alan MacDonald is certainly making a big impression at the club by first persuading head coach Jo Venglos to stay and now by getting the fans favourite, Larsson, to also commit his future to Celtic Park.Henrik will receive a basic salary of around £1million with the further possibility of up to £500,000 worth of bonuses per year.

Celtic continue to close the gap at the top of the SPL, their win against Motherwell allowed them to get within four points of Rangers as they were only able to salvage a 1-1 draw from a competetive tie played at Tannadice now that Dens Park is under renovation.

Talk of the town is that Kenny Dalglish may be invited back to Celtic Park as Technical Director. Other names mentioned have included Rudi Kroll and Wim Jansen although the latter seems unlikely as MacDonald was unimpressed by his discussions with the media subsequent to his dismissal.
