Celtic 1 - 0 Motherwell

Kick off 3pm Saturday 17th April

A game to test the nerves, Goram was in inspired form and seemed destined to deny Celtic three points. One of his saves was reminisent of Gordon Banks save in Mexico. However a soft penalty provided Herik Larsson with ample opportunity to secure three points Celtic just about deserved.

This was a scrappy tie, with players falling like nine pins, Lambert and Mjallby both hobbled of with injuries and Henrik Larsson was barged around the pitch for much of the ninety minutes. It is ironic that in a game where Larsson was on the end of poor tackling that the game's major talking point was one bad tackle he made. It appears to me that the tabloid press are trying to attack Larsson at every opportunity, this gives them something to splash across the back page now all the speculation over the swedes future is over.

Celtic had something of an off day today and must be thankful that they scraped home. With Rangers only managing a draw against Dundee the gap is down to four points.
