The Always Helpful Chemist

Requirements Forte Weapons Armor Helmet
None Item Guns and Knives Clothes Hats

Lo and behold, the Chemist. On the elementary level of the Squire, the Chemist is also a very essential Job that will reap numerous benefits later in the game if mastered early. The Chemist is the building block of the "magician" Job Classes!

Chemist is just a fancy name for "healer". He basically provides your little army with the life replenishing items they need to survive. Among these items are things like potions, antidotes, ethers, echo grasses, elixirs, holy waters, eye drops, etc. Like all other magicians, the Chemist has a low HP count. Fortunately, it's a temporary disadvantage that the support ability "Equip Armor" can remedy.

Compared to the Squire, the Chemist has many more abilities to choose from. But in retrospect, both basic characters are equal. Squires have the better attacks, but Chemists specialize in the healing abilities that ensure that the Squires (as well as themselves) can live to see another battle.

Hint: If you are looking for a quick way to gain JP's early in the game (besides getting the "Gained JP up" support ability) , then take the following advice. First, use potions relentlessly. Potions are inexpensive and abundant. You can use them even if you have the slightest amount of damage. Believe me, you can get a lot of JP this way. Second thing is to throw stones. Everywhere. Even at your allies! It doesn't hurt them much, and you can always use potions to heal them! Remember, you can get the same amount of JP for doing seemingly insignificant things (like using potions or throwing stones) than you would get for doing the hardcore stuff (like killing an enemy or using a Phoenix Down). NEVER WASTE A TURN!
