NOTE: Reported as an upgraded, slightly more complete Basement Tapes compilation; several issues already circulating. No significant new material is included, although source tapes for many are reported lower generation (or better sound) than previously in common circulation. Many other tracks are reported to be remastered. A very few tracks not previously compiled, but already circulating, are also included. Early reports for this set overstated the number of tracks presented. More recent reports suggest that this release omits two circulating tracks, a short fragment of "Belchezaar," and a long-circulating take of "Crash On The Levee"; those tracks can be found on the subsequent Scorpio release of this material.

BIAB: My opinion is that it represents a vast improvement over the sound of the 5-CD Genuine Basement Tapes set. Fewer dropouts, and considerably less distortion and much clearer sound on many of the key songs.
