Halfway on the journey, Sonic jumps out of the plane, morphs into Super Sonic and dashes ahead of Tails.
However, Knuckles was tricked by Robotnik that Sonic wanted to steal the master emerald that charges the Floating Island. ( It is Robotnik that wants the emerald ) When Sonic arrives, Knuckles jumps out of the ground, hitting Sonic and causing the seven chaos emerads to scatter. Knuckles laughs, then grabs all the seven emeralds. Your adventure now begins.
Angel Island is just like a tropical island only that it was! Now, it has been 'contaminated' by Robotnik. Observe the badnik, Coconuts, clinging on the tree. This guy 'fires' coconuts. He isn't vey powerful actually. There are also other badniks like a rhinoceros, a spike ball shooting flower and of course, a blue coloured flying caterpillar. Also, Knuckles' stage is different from both Sonic, Tails or Sonic and Tails together.
However, if you do get trapped in the hole (act 1) shown bellow using Knuckles (Knuckles jump lower), the sollution is simple.
First, jump, glide and climb onto the wall as shown......
Then jump, glide and climb onto the other wall as shown......
Finally, jump to the spring and get out.
There is also a hidden passage in act 1. Push the rock out of the way by doing a spin dash......
Then let go when the rock is pushed away, let go and presto, you would break the way into the secret passage.
