First of all, it was Chris' Birthday on Tuesday, the 22nd! I actually remembered the day OF, but it was 10pm
and too late to call! D'oh.
Anyways, on Tuesday a few more people showed up at work. But there
still wasn't much to do. The day before, Annie had mentioned something
about us having lunch together before she started work, but she never
showed. It's okay though, I ended up back in the computer lab to fix
my page a bit. I should have just put my "next" and "previous" links
on those entry pages, but I just didn't think of it then. :P Ah well!
The afternoon was kind of hectic. I was sitting in the back, doing
my own thing. I finally decided to put my order in on Half.com!
I am getting "The Matrix," "English Patient," and something else I
can't remember. But afterwards, I got to order some magazines for free.
There is a promotional thing going where if you spend $15 you get $60
in free magazines. Too bad they were pretty lame titles. I guess it was
my fault for not doing this sooner since they HAD good titles. I suppose everyone got the good stuff. I signed up for Harper's Bazaar,
Wired, and Talk Magazine. I'm like: EH about them all.
But while I was trying to complete my order, I had to handle the front
desk cuz all these people were in the waiting area for one reason or
another! Plus, this magazine website was slow and I was concerned that
I'd be timed out. So I kept walking back and forth. But in the end, I
got what I wanted, sort of.
I went upstairs to keep Annie company during the last 30mins of her shift. I laughed at her when she was helping this guy out. But it was
just funny, and it wasn't in a mean-spirited nature either. I left to
put my barbell back in and the guy was gone! Annie said he told her he'd "talk to me about laughing at her." Well, he could have! :D
So then we decided to have dinner at Siam, Thai food. It was good.
Of course we ordered the same thing, I got a tiny bowl of rice..which
probably cost a nickel to make, for $1.50! Nice. Went back to her place. We were gonna go to Wilson's to see the final episode of
Survivor. But as we were coming down the stairs (to walk
there) we changed our minds. It had been a long, hot day for me (longer
week) and I just wanted to get home. Plus, I wanted to make sure I
called Chris...
Even though I figured that he wouldn't be there. I remember him
telling me he was moving out. And he did. I talked to his mom, gave
her my message and thanked her. This morning I mailed off card so
that he can get back to me with his new info. I'm looking forward to
hearing from him again.
Speaking of mail, Ellen sent me stuff yesterday...I was pretty happy
to get it! Weeeeee.
As for work stuff, well, there isn't any. Today everyone is gone
except me and two people. One guy doesn't tell me to do anything.
The other is the front desk girl and she doesn't have anything for me to do. So here I am, I was on Napster
getting some Mp3z for my sister and read all my bookmarks I have here.
I wrote some email..and now I'm updating my page.
Well, this weekend, B and I and possibly her new "friend" are going
to see "Get It On." Okay I know it's a stupid cheerleading/dance movie.
But it looks fun! So I'm really looking forward to that.
Haven't been sleeping all that much. It doesn't matter if I'm in
bed before 10pm, I will stay awake until 2am! ARGH. So I can't
wait for the weekend, so that I can catch-up on missed sleep.
I also started and finished another book: My Year of Meats. It's
about this Japanese-American woman who is directing a TV series in
America for Japan called "American Wife!" The show follows a wholesome
family through their day and films them making a popular, family
beef dish. The show is sponsored by Beef-EX; they want Japanese people
to eat more beef. Inevitably you know that this book will become a
vehicle against eating meat, rather against the atrocities of producing
so much meat.
That aspect turned me off to the book, but that was the point. It was a
good read though. I haven't decided what I want to read next, I think
I'll wait until I meet up with B and get the second Harry Potter book
from her!
Been thinking of reworking my page. I want the minimalist look. Just
a few links for a bio, friends, links, old entries. I also want my page
to look sleek as well. So that involves using dark colors, which I
likes! And making sure things are consistent. It's a big job and it's
prolly something I can only do on a fast computer but who knows..maybe
I'll not even get anything done? :P
Right now I'm trying to remember where I saw a HUGE typo on one of my
old pages,
but I can't remember which! ARGH.
What the hell is Burning Man?!?!? I don't get it, I just don't get it..
