March 4, 2000: Y'know...I always seem to forget to mention the 'good' stuff in my entries. I try to get most of them down, but since I've been updating less, I need to remember everything and then cram them all down before I can forget. One of these things was something that happened last Wednesday. Sure, I wrote about having lunch with Annie and Dawn and going shopping with them..but I forgot to mention the grilled cheez sandwich. See, usually I walk the outside way to By George. This involves walking in the cold and going down some stairs. And if it's raining, hey you gotta deal with that. But whenever I go with Annie, she makes me go the inside way, which is thru the stairwell next to Odegaard. That was the case for Wednesday. So fine. We're going down the stairs and are at the door which opens into By George. It's a double door, but the right side has no handle, so I go for the left one. I'm opening it and passing thru, when some girl just barrels into me on her way out. She didn't even wait for me to finish coming in? I felt her brush past me and I shrugged. I stood outside the door to wait for Annie and Dawn. It seemed that suddenly the doorway was a traffic jam. I was oblivious, until Dawn tugged at me and said: "Jeanny, look at what you did." She pointed to the floor and I followed her finger to see a grilled cheez sandwich, laying there. I looked up again, to see her brushing crumbs off my arm. And it hit me: Look at what I did! Doorway traffic was at a standstill with the girl standing over her fallen sandwich and people bumping into her. Annie somehow joined us on the other side. I felt bad. However, the girl didn't even turn around to look at me or say anything, directly. She bent down to pick up her sandwich and said: "Thaaanks" (bitchy tone). Okay fine then. Y'know something. Hell, I would have given her a dollar or something, if she would have turned around and said something, not this bitchy shit. (Grilled cheez are $1.39) I did feel bad about it, especially since Dawn and Annie told me how she only took one bite out of it. D'oh! *L* It was funny, though. I still feel bad about it, but just not as bad as I would if she was nicer about the whole thing. *shrug* I just wanted to mention that since I forgot last time. Something else I forgot to mention... I contacted the owner of the apartment the other day. I had to confirm the repayment method of our beautiful refrigerator. Somehow, it's pretty damn hard to make yourself sound happy to be paying the bucks. I did it though. Not to say that it's not fair or anything. I'm just saying it sucks because I can spend the money on many other things. Books for the quarter, a trip to LA, half of a queen-size bed, more furniture, music, games, and books. Oh my... Larry's been real busy. I suppose things have been like this since midterms. It gets trying because I want to sit here to wait for him to pay attention to me, but then I want to do something else. So last night I did something else. I made plans to have dinner with Weese, Jim, and Mike. We were going to China Town to eat somewhere. But first I had to wait for Meesh to call me!!! But first, I had to contend with someone doing a survey. So they called the day before, and I told them I was writing my paper (see: go away), they said they would call back the next day. Which was yesterday. So fine. I said I wasn't interested. They said they would call me back tomorrow. I said not to. He protested and repeated that this was a survey. I said I understood and don't call me ever again. I know the deal, okay? Sheeeeeet. She called and the whole time it was like: Whoa! I'm talking to you! The silly girl had a phone in her room but didn't give me her phone number, what a goof. *L* It reminds me of how she let Larry sit there with chowder all over his face during the football game. Silly girl! I said I would get the number from Mike and I could prolly call her once a week or so. I need to contact the phone company to find out the international rates. I gave the phone to Lar, which I suppose was a bad idea. I think they talked longer than I did! Anyways, I finally got the phone back and we talked a little more. Not too much since it was like 4am over there, I three-wayed over to Mike's so she wouldn't have to deal with connection feez. It worked, which was really cool, but no one was home!!! We talked a little more and then I was pushing her off to bed. We said "bye" about 50 times, I swear. Neither of us wanted to hang up. I thought it was funny since it was very similar to couples going: "No, YOU hang up first.....No, YOU!....You!...Okay, on the count of three...." *LOL* I then talked to Weese, and they said they were coming to get me. Meanwhile, Larry talked to a friend from home. They picked me up late, but that's because they decided to pick Mike up. Parking was a bitch. I wanted to see if there was time to look in the shops, but by that time (7-something), it was pretty late for stores. We ate at Top Gun, in the back room. It was good though. We each ordered a dish and shared. So we had beans in X.O. sauce (I'm still not sure what it is), sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken, and mongolian beef. Everything was yummy, but the chicken was just too saucey. I don't like it when there's too much sauce on anything. They took me back to the dorms and we hung out there. Jim was staying in Weese's room that night since his roommate was "on a date." Hmmmmmmm... Yeaaaaaaah. *L* But I hung out there for a couple hours. Weese got me tix to see "Mission to Mars" next Wednesday. It'll be coming at a bad time, since I have a final the following Thursday. But I'll need a break around then. And it's been a while since Lar and I went to the movies. I came home just before midnight, just as Larry was finishing up for the night. I went out in the big room to watch "An American Warewolf in Paris." Talk about a lame movie! It was hilarious because it was so bad. He just went to bed. When I got there, we talked a little and just fell silent towards sleep. In the morning, he rushed off to work on some group project. He'll be gone for a few hours, it's been nearly five. Hmm, when is he coming back? My parents came by with foodstuffs, that's always a nice distraction. I cleaned up a little, since the place has gone to hell. His papers are EVERYWHERE. Thank god for these little magazine racks we got at IKEA. I put all his stuff in them. Suppose that's it. We met in our salmon groups yesterday. I got the hard part of combining everything. Woo hoo! That means I gotta wait for everyone to finishing their part before I can start mine. Oy. It's due next-next Monday, I also have a final that day too. Lovely. After much ragging from Jim and Mike, I've decided to make a new friends page. Who knows when I'll actually do it though. :P Last old entry was March 2, 2000. March 5, 2000Hey everyone. It's actually like 2.16am on Sunday morning. I'm typing it now and I'll prolly post it later in the day, after I wake up. *heh*First off, some pictures! I still haven't heard from a few people whether it's cool to post or not, but if they do come around and don't want me to then send me email. I made up an LA pic index, and I also revised my LA page with the same picture links. So take your pick. You can just look at the pictures or else read along with my trip and see where they happen. But my Saturday turned out pretty well. Larry came home around 6pm. We hung around a little and then took a nap. Woke up after 8pm. We were pretty hungry, so we got dressed and went to Red Robin. Surprisingly there was no wait for a table! We ate and didn't stuff ourselves too much, since we were in a rush because we were going to see Pitch Black. Yes, I know, it doesn't seem like the kind of movie we would see huh? But it was actually pretty good. A good fun movie for the night that didn't require much cognition to process. *heh* I'd suggest it to others. Then we went home and I went online to mess around with my pages. It's really annoying me though, cuz Angelfire keeps changing format around me. So then I have to redo all my settings and whotnot. And what's more infuriating is that I can't access the directory that contains my updates on the /ClaireLuv account! RAR. It's been like this ever since I moved them all there. There's like 20 of them there and I can't go in there to fix them and link them. Haw! Oh, and when Lar came in, he also brought in three issues of Rolling Stone. That's pretty cool, how I got these back issues. But at this rate, my subscription will be out in no time. Whew! Well, it's late Sunday night now. I'll just finish up this update. So I woke up around noon, after Larry left. It's a bit strange to wake up w/o him on the weekends since he's been working the whole time. Anyhow, I woke up and had some breakfast and watched TV until I started reading. He came home a few hours later...he went back to work, and I read more. I wasn't concentrating very well, but I finish what I wanted done for my CMU. Starting 209 reading was very difficult and I didn't read as much as I would have liked. I basically just watched a lot of TV. :P Jim did call and we talked a little but since it was Sunday and I usually don't do anything, there wasn't much to say. It was nice that he did call me though. :) Guess that's it. No one's online since it's Sunday, suppose. Talka Latta. March 10, 2000This week has been pretty shitty.Monday: I don't think I wanted to go to class, but I did since this was the last week of classes and all! I particularly dislike my 209 because the lecture room is so stuffy when you enter! Sure, after a few minutes, you're used to it, but it's pretty gross. Then in 355 it's just boring rambling. The only thing that got me through the day was knowing I only had to do two hours. Whew! I showed up at the flagpole to meet the Annie for lunch and who else was there but Jim. So that's pretty nifty he showed up, he also let me borrow his Chemical Brothers CD. That was pretty cool, cuz I had forgotten that we talked about it on Friday. We had lunch at La Vaca and right after I get my food, Annie tells me that she and Wilson were going to Costco. Damn! Now I couldn't get one of their polish dogs! It was also Brian's birthday! He's the big 21 now. YAY. Anyhow, so I couldn't pass up a trip to Costco. I went with Annie to her boring animal behavior class (which I took freshman year with Meesh, I'm sure I wrote about it somewhere). I was falling asleep in there since the teacher had the lights dimmed. Annie and I then took a long walk over to Wilson's. We went looking for the Costco near the Kingdome and that took us a few minutes extra because he wasn't exactly sure of its location. Then we just wandered around inside. I found a big-ass jar of Cetaphil, which I've been needing, so I was happy. Afterwards, we ate in their cafe place. I got a sundae, while they ate their polish dogs. *d'aww* Afterwards, they went to get ice cream too. *L* They were acting like such little kids, it was amusing. Then we went to QFC so Annie could get Brian's cake and they dropped me off at home. It was a pretty good afternoon. Tuesday: I dragged myself through another day of class. I actually stayed the whole duration of my CMU class, with the hopes of getting my second paper back. But you know?! They weren't ready yet. And that really sucked because he told us last week we would get them on Friday. On Friday he told us we would get them Tuesday. And now he's telling us we would get them on Thursday. SUCK! We also did NOT do course evaluations. I think they knew that the class wasn't so great. But that was also sucky cuz I wanted to let them know! You know? Wednesday: My other short day. That girl I talk to in 355 showed up today. She said she was sick. We were talking and she said she was taking a Classics course that I took freshman year as well. And my big fat nice mouth told her she could borrow my book, since I kept it cuz I liked it. Now, I wish I hadn't said that since I don't even KNOW her. She would go running off with my etymology book! D'ooooh. I did some erranding and it was a quite productive day. I got my group's salmon papers and I had to study for my CMU exam on Thursday. There was a study break at night though, we had free tickets to see Mission to Mars. So first we went out for dinner and ate at Pepe's..that place with the really good fried ice cream. Of course they were out of it, so afterwards we went to Mix Ice Cream instead and got some. It's gooooo. We were looking for Wilson so we could cut in line but he wasn't there! So we stood a ways back from the theatre. After standing there about 20mins he showed up and we cut up there with him. It's a good thing we did since a lot of people were turned away. But then again, the movie was LAME!!! Don't see this movie, it sucks!!! RUN, RUN for your LIVES. I'd think that, hello!, Tim Robbins and Gary Sinise they are awesome! So this movie would be awesome! HELL NO. It was quite lame and very cheezy and ripped off lots of other sci-fi movies. Anyways! So we got home and I continued to study for my exam. Thursday: I went to my 209 and did a course evaluation. I think the class was pretty good..considering how boring this topic is! I gave him decent marks. I finished early so I went to the lab to send Meesh an email. I just remembered that her spring break is starting. And I bet she's DAMN happy and excited that Mike's is going to see her TOMORROW. Well, they'll prolly end up meeting on Sunday or something. But WOWIE, I'm pretty excited for her. I decided to skip my 355 class so I could study more for my CMU. I camped outside the classroom. *Heh* I did a lot done though. But I noticed a spider crawling on the board. Gross! The exam was alright. I rolled my eyes at a few of his questions because I skipped over them on the study guide because they were DUMB. And while I was taking the exam, I noticed another spider crawling on the floor in front of me. YUK! I went home and just relaxed! Lar went to the lab to finish up his newsletter and he was gone 10 hours! I got a chance to put together our salmon essay so I was busy too. I did get a chance to go online and chat for a few and that was very nice since I don't do that any more. Today: It was another boring day. Section in 209 was very informative. I think the exam will be okay, I just need to read the material. I gave section review high marks as well cuz she was coo. I met up with my salmon group afterwards to talk over our paper. We went to our TA, I spilled a box of papers, and got some feedback. I'm gonna change the essay into a newsletter. I think it'll be very cool when it's done. Hopefully not too much work though, ug! Then we had lunch, Wilson, Annie, Dawn, and Nelson. It was coo, I told Nelson he looked like a big fuzzy bear. He forgot his cup on the table when he left. *L* I went to 355 section, which I haven't done for a month now. And it was VERY useful. We got study guides and she talked about things that weren't on them. Whew I'm glad I went, unlike these two girls who got all the way here and then decided to just leave. Such wasted effort! Why'd you even come if you knew you were gonna leave? I actually participated in class too, what a shocker. I met up with Annie and Dawn. We walked to Supercuts so Dawn could get her hair cut. They couldn't get her in for a few minutes so we went to Safeway and ran into Darryl. We went back there and her hair got cut and we went to their apartment. Her hair looked better when it was dry. I'm thinking of getting my hair cut some time too. I sat there and we watched TV. I didn't tell you that they cut our cable on Tuesday! It's horrible! I guess I shouldn't complain because they did give us two extra months, since Lar quit in January. We will subscribe to basic but we need to return our digital box to get the basic one...what a pain! Until then I'm without cable. It really sucks because I've been waiting for that Discovery thing on the mammoth and I'm gonna miss it. :P Went home for a bit and then we went out for dinner. We were gonna get Orange King, but of course I'm in love with fish&chips, so we went to the Sea Shanty instead. What a bad choice! First of all, it took a long time to get our food. And second, our waiter guy he was shitty! I watched and he payed careful attention to the table next to us. He only went to our table to give us our drinks, our food, and then our refills..only because we asked. I mean, what the hell? The guy next to us got his food coming and coming. We were doing the all-you-can-eat dinner. And we get nothing! But whatever, we got another refill of drinks and food..and took most of the food home. It was really bad service, usually I'm nice about not noticing but this time it was unmistakeable. Then we went to QFC to grocery shop since we prolly won't leave the apartment again because of studying. I got a lot of food! Whoa. It's coo though, I get hungry. ;) So now you're back to the top! <<<< ^ >>>> |
