Notice that in pattern no. 2, there is one dot beside the minim, so we read the note as dotted minim. A dotted minim has a value of 3 beats, 2 beats for the minim and 1 beat for the dot. The dot receives half the value of main note (minim). If a dot beside a crotchet, we read as dotted crotchet which has a value of 1 and half beats.
Now you should familiar with these right hand patterns. Practise the following chords using different pattern. Try all of the patterns. Strings (4)(5)(6) are bass strings, so use p finger.
