Lesson 2
After some exercises in lesson 1, we start plucking with chords

All patterns in previous exercises using (6) string as p (thumb). Now we pluck this string depend on the chord. For example, C chord and Am chord we pluck the (5) string, using thumb. Others strings to be plucked are (1)(2) and (3).
Play chord using right hand pattern no.5 - For C chord, use left hand 1st finger to press (2) string and 3rd finger to press (5) string. Use right hand thumb, p to pluck (5) string 1 time and i m a to pluck (3)(2)(1) strings together 3 times. Repeat again. Change C chord to Am chord by release left hand 3rd finger, press (2) string using 2nd finger, no changes for 1st finger, right hand plucking remain the same pattern. Play twice also.
When pressing the guitar strings, keep your left hand thumb behind the neck. Do not grab the neck. The thumb should never protrude over the edge of the fingerboard on the (6) string side. Keep your fingers hovering over the strings. Do not lift fingers too far out.
A string being plucked without left hand pressing on that particular string is called open string. For example in C chord, open strings are (1)(3). Practise C and Am chord using other patterns. If you are using steel strings and feel painful when pressing the string, you may change you guitar strings to nylon strings. This will eliminate painful of you left hand fingers.
Now add another chord for exercises - G7 chord

Chord progress : C to Am to C to G7 to C again and repeat. To change from C chord to G7 chord, release left hand 3rd finger and press (6) string, release 1st finger and press (1) string. Try different patterns for right hand.
