Fibromyalgia Resources

Most recent update June 22, 2003
but on the search for new and informatives sites
February 2006

I spent many days and hours researching all this material and have provided links that have
the most information in the simplest of terms so everyone can understand them. These links
included information on fibromyalgia syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome. Fibromyalgia can be kept under control with the correct medications and exercise. One must be realistic though
and learn to recognize the signs when things are bad enough to sit back and take a break.
It is a hard thing to do because there are days when, without warning you are in immeasurable pain, you just have to wait it out, no matter how long it lasts. THINGS DO GET BETTER!
I have put off coming back to this page for quite some time now.. I hate any type of reminder
that I have medical problems.. In the past years I have been part of a fabulous group, that
is a support group for chronic sufferers. They are the best form of therapy I have come across
in years.. They have been a great source of support and information. Not only for me, but for
each other. They are caring and loving and understanding. I thank God and my angel for
bringing me to this group of wonderful people. There are many women that suffer from FMS
and CFS, as I do and as time goes on, I will be adding their links to this page so you can
recieve more info on these deceases that we have been afflicted with. It is comforting to
me to know I am not alone. AND REMEMBER, NEITHER ARE YOU!!

So many of us have this decease called fibromyalgia and upon finding out about this decease we are all mistyfied by it. You don't seem to hear about it until you have been told you have it. It is a painful and dibilitating decease, and most of us cry when we hear what it is we have. Especially when we are told that there is no cure for it. But I am here to tell you that there is hope. I was told I had it back in the summer of 95 and I am still around to talk about it. I
must be honest in stating that it has changed my life though. I don't do too much of the housework any more. Not that I mind that at all, because I really hated doing it anyway, so that was a plus for me. I don't carry in the groceries anymore, but isn't that what your kids and spouse are for anyway??? LOL... I have found that having someone to talk to about my pains and anguish, I have made it through each day and consider myself a survivor.
You must remember that you can get through each day, just take each day a little slower then you did, before you had FMS. Be careful and don't be afraid to say " I need some help." I must admit, that was the hardest for me to do. I am one of those people that if it needs to be done, I would do it myself, whether I was at work or at home. I haven't worked in four years and I have a great support team in my own home. I am very thankful for them. I cannot
stress upon you enough the importance of having someone to talk to. If you do not have that
support and need someone to talk to or just correspond with on a regular basis, you can send me an e-mail and I would be more then happy to be part of your support. I have also found this wonderful webring for FMS. I invite you all to go visit the links and if at all possible join the group yourself!
