It was in the summer 1999 when it started. Niko and I was sitting and drinking coffee on a cold summer morning. We were talking about songs we hade done a few years earlier and the stories that was behind them. We had had a few bands together in the past but none of them lasted for long. After a few hours of talking and laughing to the past we decided to try how the songs would sound now after gaining a bit more experience in playing. Well, as you can guess by now, they sounded good and Niko suggested that we should do a demo of these old songs and put a few new ones to complete the demo. As the summer went on we did
the demo. We used my old 4-tracker and a couple of old microphones and put up studio in Niko's room. It took all summer to do the demo but putting all our time on making it it turned out sounding quite good for a demo.

The demo had six songs on it. The opening track on it was "Mr.Jameson". The song is dedicated to a friend of mine called Egill who told me about Mr.Jameson. We all know Mr.Jameson, don't we? The second song was called "You". This was probably the first song we wrote together with Niko so it has a lot of memories in it. The third song was "Dreaming" and it was followed by "Wake Up, Rise And Shine". Both tracks are in our latest demo called "Dangerous Signs". The fifth track on the demo was called " I Should ". This track is one of the heaviest track that we ever done and the guitar solo on this track... I can't find the words but we laughed a lot to it. The last song on the demo was called " Dirt ". We we're hoping to put this song on our latest demo but we didn't have enough time to do it in the studio. It was a shame.

After making the demo we started to search for a bass player. Luckily it didn't take long to find the perfect guy for it. Mikko was the obvious choice for the job and luckily he said yes to it. After that we took part in a rock-contest in Oulu. Our band was called SINE. Well, we didn't win it but we got encouraging reviews from the newspaper KALEVA. After a couple of months we had to change the name of our band because we found out that there was already a band called SINE and they were releasing a record.

In march 2000 we decided to take somebody to play the keyboards in our band and Ilkka was the perfect choice. We changed our name to POETS OF TOMORROW after all the changes that had happened to us. The songs got a new look and finally it was time to go to the studio and make our first "real" demo called "Dangerous Signs". We went to a studio called "Studio Noro" and managed to play four songs in two days and on the third day we mixed it. It was a great experience and I hope that we will spend a lot more time in the studio in the future.

During the spring of 2001 we changed our bass player. The new bassplayers name was Ari.He did some amazing stuff with his bass on our "I Try" demo. Listen to the bass on "Blue"...

Our current bassplayer is Jussi. More about him can be found in the band section.
