"Well, we're finally here," says Brian as he and Nick get out of the taxi cab and pay the driver. "Damn.......this ship is huge!" exclaims Nick as he pulls down his black shades to get a better view.
"Well, they say that this is the biggest ship ever made."
"I know, man. We're so lucky! I still can't believe we finally have a month off from all our work," says Nick.
"And to top it off, we managed to get tickets for the Titanic's maiden voyage!" exclaims Brian as they start walking towards the ship. "The only thing that worries me is that I was told that they're aren't enough lifeboats for everybody."
"Really? Well, I'm sure there's a reason. Anyway, don't worry about that, B-Rok, what are the chances that this huge ship is going to sink?"
"Yeah, you're right," Brian says, though somewhat not too sure.
"You worry too much," Nick jokingly says.
"That's how I am, what can I say?"
"True. Well, anyway, too bad the rest of the guys couldn't come with us since they all had other plans."
"Well, then I guess it's just you and me. I hope nobody recognizes us. I would like for once to go through a vacation without having to answer to all those screaming girls."
Nick rolls his eyes and sighs. Brian has been complaining about this for a long time. He is getting sick of it, but decides not to do anything about it for now. But if you bring it up one more time, I swear I'm going to lose it, he silently thinks to himself. Instead, he just pretends to go along with it. "You said it. Don't worry, hopefully, no one will see through our disguises (He puts his black shades back on). "This time Frick and Frack are gonna paaaaaarrrrrrrrty!!!" yells Nick excitedly as Brian laughs.
When they finally reach the ship, they give their tickets to one of the ship's officer, and go up. When they reach the top, they walk towards the railing and look down.
"Damn!! We're really high above the ground! Feel like throwing up, Rok?"
"Not really, I want to keep my breakfast where it's supposed to be.....in my stomach!"
"Man, this is so cool! I'm definitely gonna have fun bragging about all this to the guys."
"Hell, yeah!" Brian exclaims.
Just then, the ship begins to move away from the dock. "Alright, we are on our way!!!! Whoohoo!!!" shouts Nick.
"C-ya!!" yells Brian to the people down below. They both continue shouting and waving goodbye to the people..........not knowing that someone had already recognized them. "Oh my God, 2 of the Backstreet Boys are on that ship! AAAHHHH!" yells one girl down below. Oh, no..... Brian mentally kicks himself. Damn! I should have known this would happen if I did that. The cry creates a frenzy among all the people down there.......including on the ship. "Backstreet Boys??!! Where, WHERE???!!" they all shout.
"Uh, I think it's time to escape to our rooms..." "I'm with you man. Let's get out of here before they see us."
They rapidly, but casually, start walking towards the halls to look for their room.
"Hey girl, what's all the fuss about over there on the other side of the ship? Do you know?"
"I'm not sure. But I did here someone say that somebody famous is on this ship." "Really? Wow, I wonder who it is."
"Hey Arlene, wouldn't it be so cool if it were our main men?"
"Get real Prisci!! No way will we be ever THAT lucky!!" she exclaims to her friend, who is 5'5'', with soft wavy shoulder-length hair and gorgeous dark brown eyes as they start walking towards their rooms. "There are millions and millions of girls out there just like us who are dying to meet them. The chance of that ever happening is huge, and the chance of us ever becoming their girlfriends is off the charts!"
"Yeah, I know, but it's nice to dream about it though" says Priscilla to her redheaded model-figured friend. "I'd be the happiest person alive if Nick Carter ever became my boyfriend." Arlene laughs. "And I'd love to be Brian Littrel's girlfriend one day..." she says dreamily. After a couple of minutes, they find their room. They put their bags down while Priscilla takes out her key to unlock the door. Suddenly, she hears a soft thud somewhere down the hall.
"Hey, did you hear something?"
"Yeah, but it's probably nothing. Maybe someone just couldn't wait until it was night to go to bed," Arlene jokingly says.
"Girl, you have a nasty mind!"
"I know. Come on, let's go in."
So they both pick up their bags and go in.
"Hey Brian, you ok?" asks Nick worriedly. "That was a nasty fall."
"Yeah, I'm fine Nick. Guess I should have watched out for that last step," says Brian, smiling. Nick helps him up.
"Think you can walk?"
"Yeah, don't worry, I think I just got a small bump on my knee. No big deal."
So they walk down the hall and find their room. "Here it is Frick. Room 42B. You have the key?"
"Yeah, hold on."
Brian reaches into his pocket and pulls out the key. He inserts it into the key hole and unlocks the door. They grab their bags and go in. "Hey cool!! We have bunk beds! I get the top one!!" Nick exclaims. He puts his bag on the top bunk so that Brian can't take it.
"Hey, no fair! Why should you get the top bunk?!"
"Because I called it first!" Nick haughtily answers.
"Oh forget it. Let's just unpack so we can go explore the ship," Brian says, raising his arms in defeat. So they both unpack and hang up their clothes in silence. Finally, Brian decides to just let it go and break the ice. "Where do you wanna go first, Frack?" he asks nicely.
"How about the pool? I'm in the mood for a swim."
"Uh, I don't think that's a very good idea now that all those people know we're here........" Nick couldn't take it anymore. "So what do you suggest we do, huh? Stay in our rooms for the rest of the trip?!"
"No, of course not! But for now, it's best if we go to some places a little more private...."
"Oh, come on Brian! Those people aren't going to kill us! We can't hide from them forever, you know. Shit, I'm starting to regret that you even came. You have to understand, as annoying as it is sometimes, this is the price we have to pay for being where we are now. You have to accept that someday!!" he shouts angrily. Brian just stares at him with his mouth open, not believing that Nick, his best friend, had just said that. Nick sees that he went too far, for he can see it in his eyes that he had hurt him.
Suddenly though, whatever hurt that had been in his eyes vanished quickly and were replaced by a look of pure anger. "So, the truth finally comes out at last. After all this time, I was nothing more than just an extra weight on your shoulders. Well, as far as I'm concerned, I'll just go and do my thing and you can just go and do whatever the hell you want!"
Nick was so shocked he could barely speak. "Brian..." he began softly. "Save it! I heard enough from you to last me a lifetime." Giving him one last menacing look, he went out and slammed the door so hard that the walls rattled. Nick was left alone. ......no. I am not gonna let you ruin this vacation for me. I am going to go out there and have a blast.....with or without you, thinks Nick. He angrily grabs a towel and heads towards the pool.
"Hey, did you hear that? That must have been the loudest door-slamming I have ever heard!" said Arlene.
"Yeah, I wonder what happened," says Priscilla. Arlene decides to go take a peek at whoever just came out from down the hall. Just when she opens her door, it hits some person and that person comes crashing face down.
"Oh, I am so sorry! I didn't know you were there. Are you hurt?" she asks worriedly. She hears only a soft moan.
"Oh man, you are hurt bad. I think I must have hit your head. Prisci, come help me, quick!" She runs quickly to Arlene's side.
"What is it Arlene? Why did........oh my God!" she exclaims as she sees the body for the first time.
"Arlene, what the hell did you do?!"
"Shit, don't yell at me! All I did was accidentally hit him with the door!"
"Is he dead?"
"No, of course not! I think he's unconscious. Here, help me turn him over so we can carry him into the living room." So they both grab him and turn him over. When they see who it is, they both freeze. ".....Prisci....are you seeing who I'm seeing?"
"I think I am......is......is that.........Brian?" she softly asks.
"Th....that's what I was thinking alright."
He then gives out another soft moan. That snaps both girls out of their state of shock for the time being. They both carry him inside and put him in the sofa. There, Arlene sees more clearly that Brian has suffered a huge bump on his forehead.
".....um...Prisci, could you please wrap some ice in a bag so I could put it on his forehead. He has a nasty bump there."
"Sure thing.......I'll be right back," she manages to say in a daze.
When she and Brian are finally alone, Arlene just looks at him dreamily and starts gently stroking his hair. "Oh man...." she softly says. "I never, ever imagined in a million years that I would finally meet you like this. I must be the luckiest girl in the whole world. Who would have imagined that you would fall right onto my doorstep....literally." She chuckles softly to herself. "I know that this is probably the closest I'll ever get to you, but it sure is nice to dream about what could happen between us. Maybe it will.......someday...." As soon as she says that, Brian gives out another moan and looks like he is about to wake up. Arlene sees this and inhales sharply. She has no idea of what to say to the man who's face is plastered on every inch of her bedroom walls back at home. "Prisci, I think he's coming to!!" Arlene says almost hysterically.
Priscilla comes out with the bag of ice just in time to see Brian open his eyes. She is so startled that she almost drops it. ".....wh...where am I? What happened?" he manages to say.
Arlene gathers up all her courage and starts speaking. "Um....you are here in room 47B. I was opening the door when I accidentally hit you. You've been out for a couple of minutes," she says softly.
Brian looks closely at this beautiful creature kneeling down next to him. Wow, she must be the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, he thinks to himself. I wonder if she knows who I am... Just as he is thinking this, Arlene interrupts his thoughts. "Um..Brian, are you ok? You're sort of staring at me and it's giving me the creeps." Not that I mind..... she says to herself. Well, so much for her not knowing me, thinks Brian as he sighs.
"Um, sorry, I didn't know I was doing that. Well, since you obviously know who I am, may I ask who you are?" asks Brian.
"Oh, I'm sorry! My name is Arlene, and the one with the bag of ice in her hand is my best friend, Priscilla," she jokingly replies. Brian notices Priscilla for the first time and manages a wave. "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't see you back there. Nice to meet you"
"That's ok. Nice to meet you too! Um, here, this is for that big bump you have on your forehead."
She hands him the ice bag. Then she turns to Arlene, knowing fully well that she probably wanted to be alone with him.
"Um, Arlene, I'm going to head for the pool. I'll be there if you need me, ok?"
"Ok Prisci, c-ya later!"
"Bye girl! Um, bye Brian! Nice meeting you!"
"Bye Priscilla," he shouts out just as she leaves the room. "She seems nice."
"Yeah, we've been friends for a long time, ever since kindergarten."
"Yeah? Wow, that IS a long time. But it's nice to have a best friend around when you need them....." replied Brian sadly as he suddenly thought about Nick.
"Um, Brian you ok? You look kinda sad."
"Uh, no, no, I'm fine. My head's kinda hurting so I'm gonna put this ice bag to good use." As Brian puts it on his bump he winces. "Ow, I'm gonna have such a headache," he painfully says.
Arlene's face turns red out of guilt. "I'm really sorry I hit you."
"Oh, no, that's ok. It'll heal. I should really be thanking you for taking care of me..."
"No need, it's the least I could do."
"Still, I'd like to repay you, so.......would you um......like to go out with me tonight?"
Arlene opens her mouth in astonishment. He wants to take me out? Oh, wow....this is a dream come true. No wait, get ahold of yourself Arlene, he's only taking you out because this is his way of saying thanks. Hmm, either way, I'll still be with him. "Um, Arlene, can I take your silence as a yes?" Brian says almost pleadingly.
Arlene snaps back to reality. "Oh, sorry about that......and yes, I'd love to go out with you," she says almost hysterically.
"Ok, great! So I guess I'll see you later."
"Are you sure you're ok? You can stay here as long as you want, you know."
"No, that's ok, I'll be fine."
Brian gets up from the sofa and walks kind of wobbly towards the door. "Well, um, see ya tonight!"
"Bye Brian!" She closes the door and sighs happily. Wait 'till Priscilla hears this!
