Chapter One

"Kristyn!! C'mon, honey, we're going to be late! The guys will kill me if I'm late for warm-up again," a voice called.

"Just one more minute!" I answered.

"Where is that stupid shoe?" I mumbled to myself.

I dug around under the bed a little more, and felt a shoe box.

"Finally!" I exclaimed.

I pulled out the shoe box, and opened it. Once it was open, I realized that it didn't contain shoes, but was full of pictures, and a small book. I picked up some of the pictures, and recognized them as my wedding photos. I was instantly brought back to that day...

"...Do you, Kristyn Leigh Arthur, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love and to cherish, as long as you both may live?" The minister asked.

"I do," I said. I looked at Brian's face, and I knew I was born to look into his eyes and see myself. I knew that this was the most perfect decision in my life, and my heart filled with joy, pleasure, and pure happiness when I heard the words "I do" escape from his lips as well...

...I remember vividly, the feelings of peace and happiness when we were wed. And still today, these feelings have never changed, nor faded. I put these pictures down, and lifted up some more. These were from the day Kara was born. That was one of the happiest days of our lives. I still remember the look on his face when he found out I was pregnant...

"...Pregnant! You mean, I'm gonna be a daddy?" he asked. "That's usually what being pregnant means, Sweetie," I said with a grin. "Oh my God! I gotta call the guys, no wait, I gotta call my mom, and I call my brother! The guys are gonna flip!" he said, sweeping me into a big hug...

...I heard footsteps coming up the stairs, and a head popped into the room.

"Mommy?" a voice asked.

I looked up. "Yes, Kara?" I asked, seeing my three-year old daughter.

"Daddy said that we're gonna be late, and he tolded me to come ‘n get you, cuz he said you would listen to me," Kara said, fumbling over her words.

"Okay, sweetie. Let's go."

I stood up, put the lid back on the shoe box, and placed it on the bed. I grabbed Kara's hand, and we walked downstairs.

"Daddy! Lookie who I founded!" Kara said proudly.

"Good job. Now, see if you can get her to the car quickly, because Daddy's going to get in trouble, because he is VERY late. Your uncles are not gonna be as nice about it this time as they were last time."

Kara pulled me to the car, and the three of us got in. We headed toward the arena as fast as we could.
