Chapter Two

The concert went wonderfully, as usual. I love seeing those five guys up there, doing what they love. When I look into their eyes, I can see that they wouldn't be as happy doing anything else as they are now. Kara and I sat in the audience for this concert, which we don't usually do. Kara's only three, and hundreds of screaming girls aren't very healthy for her to be around. She loves being out there, though, feeling the beat of the music. I can already tell that she's going to be a musician like her daddy. The concert ended, and Kara and I went backstage. On our way to the dressing room, we ran into Aaron.

"Hi, Big A!" Kara said, excitedly. She loved Aaron to death.

"Hi, Little K! How's it going?" Aaron asked, just as excited as Kara.

"Good, we're going to see my Pappy!" Kara exclaimed.

I smiled, thinking of my father, and how I used to call him Pappy, just like Kara.

"Well, I just saw him, and when you see him, I think he needs a big hug and a kiss!"

"Okie-Dokie!" Kara said, skipping down the hall to the dressing room.

"Thanks, Aaron, just make her a little more hyper why don't you?"

"If you really want..."

"I'm all for it, if you're the one putting her to bed tonight!" I said with a smile, as he walked away, laughing.

I followed Kara into the dressing room. I looked around at the usual scene that lay before me. AJ was fixing his newly dyed hair (green) in the mirror. Nick and Brian were playing MarioKart, Howie was talking on the phone, and Kevin was sleeping on the couch. Kara was sitting next to her father, watching him play MarioKart. I went over to her, picked her up, and I sat down, placing her in my lap.

"Hey, Sweetie," Brian said, not looking up from his game.

"Hey, Bri," I said. "Who's winning?"

"Guess," he said with a smile.

"Oh, Nick. Duh."

"Hey!" he exclaimed.

"I was just kidding."

Kara got bored with the cars going around the track, and she got up to go find something else to do. While walking around the dressing room, she spotting Kevin, who was still asleep on the couch. She slowly walked over to him, and poked him in the cheek.

"Uncle Wevvy? Are you sleeping?" she asked

He didn't answer her, so she poked him in the cheek again. He still didn't answer, so she kept poking him. He eventually opened his eyes, and saw Kara standing there. He smiled.

"What a beautiful face to wake up to!" Kevin said quietly.

Kara blushed, and said a small thank you.

"Are you tired?" Kevin asked, as Kara yawned.

Kara nodded.

"Well, why don't you hop up on the couch with me, and we'll take a nap together. Okay?"

Kara nodded again, and climbed onto the couch. About three seconds after Kara got onto the couch, they were both fast asleep.

"Kris, what time is it?" Brian asked, reaching over to turn off the TV.

"About 11," I said looking at my watch. "We should get Kara to bed."

"A little late for that, don't you think?" Nick asked, motioning over to the couch.

I was greeted by the most adorable sight I had ever seen. Kevin was fast asleep on the couch, laying on his stomach. His left hand was draped over the edge of the couch. Kara was in the exact same position on Kevin's back. And, they were both snoring softly.

"Awwww," I gushed, "that is soooo sweet! I think I'm gonna cry!"

"Please, hold in the tears!" Nick screamed, waking Kevin and Kara.

They both looked at me with confused faces. I bent down to pick Kara up off Kevin's back, and she fell asleep once she was safe in my arms.

"Kev, you guys were soooo cute," Howie said, trying not to wake Kara.

"I know. I'm adorable," Kevin said, before falling asleep.

"Okay, guys, we better go get Kara to bed," Brian stated.

"G'night B-Rok, g'night Kristyn," AJ replied, still fixing his hair.

Brian gathered his things, and we left the dressing room. While we were walking to the car, Kara stirred in my arms. She opened her eyes, and looked up at me.

"Shhh, baby," I said, "Go back to sleep."

Her eyes fluttered closed, and she curled up in my arms. I placed her in the backseat, and I strapped her in.

I turned to Brian. "Do you want to drive, or do you want me to?"

"Could you drive, Sweetie? I'd like to get some sleep on the way home, I'm wiped out," Brian answered with a yawn.

"No prob, baby," I said as motioned over to the other 4 members of the group (who were walking out of the arena to say their good-byes).

After five or so minutes, we got in the car, and I looked back at Kara. She wasn't there.

"Umm, Brian, where's Kara?" I asked, in a very shaky voice.

"What are you talking about? Isn't she right back..." he looked back and continued, "Oh, shit."
